@journeywithme2 Oh Man, I am sorry I have upset you! I didn't mean for you to feel that way. I was even trying to make it a little funny with the dog poop remark. You are the best, and I love what you post. You are a major contributor here of love and light. You were just posting what is all over the news today. Just can't stand that guy and although we need to stay abreast of the news, I would love to not have him be able to be quoted. Please accept my apology and a big huge hug of love and gratitude to you, sweet one. I think I have trauma around any words coming from the ex-pres and I can't figure out a nice way to make it stop. Love you and appreciate you.
We are all recovering from the trauma of four years with “the former guy.” Since the former guy was banned from Twitter, the awful, incessant noise of his daily tirades has stopped, but I still find myself getting triggered by Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell and various GOP enablers. As if the past four years weren’t bad enough, we’ve also had the shock of an insurrection, another impeachment and another acquittal. Because I’m a glutton for history, I watched most of the impeachment trial and all the new videos of the attack on the Capitol. And watching those videos was very disturbing. A week later, I’m still coming to terms with those videos of violence against Congress. We need to take care of ourselves and take the space we need to heal. My husband and I decided we need to cut our consumption of politics for a start.
Lovendure’s poetry about a tsunami of justice resonates with me. We are going to watch a tsunami of criminal and civil cases brought against insurrectionists and instigators alike, not to mention all the lawsuits against the former guy that are already in the pipeline. On second thought, this may help me heal from the past four years!
On a different note. Any thoughts on the Lincoln Project? I think they've brought a lot of people comfort with their talks and shows on youtube in 2020. Bad things have happened/come to light now, but I find it hard to swallow that the entire project should suffer and go down. It seems like they are addressing the problems with sincerity.
They were such a force to be reckoned with, but ppl/backers are leaving them now. Makes me sad that something that makes 45th's family happy and filled with glee would come to pass.
- @jeanne-mayell ❤️ Dearest One ... thank you.. I wasn't upset for myself. I thoroughly understand why you would feel that way! That creature has flung the poop far and wide! Pragmatic that I am... whose chosen life career entailed dealing with a lot of poop and learning the health status of the patient from looking at the poop closely under a microscope... I sometimes forget... that others sensibilities get overwhelmed by it. Then? I feel sad that I distressed them. So big hugs and love you right back!
Yes! We have definitely all been in a state of trauma during the last 4 years! I have felt more relaxed since they banned "the former guy" from twitter. I do have to admit though that now I am angry at the GOP who are still trying to prop him up (suddenly I thought of the movie "Weekend at Bernies" where they act like Bernie is still alive though he's a corpse) - pardon my unique sense of humor there! I too get triggered by the same (Mitch, Lindsey, etc.). I've started reading my books on kindle at night though instead of looking at social media, which I didn't do as often the last four years.
I do look forward though to the lawsuits and justice that will come. It's needed to heal and enlighten.
The whole nightmare in Texas, the majority of the GOP in the senate, etc. is as a result of the corruption and deception by them over many years. I pray that the people in this country wake up soon though because we need to enable our leaders to make sweeping changes. The list is long and quite mighty but that's why we all need to keep sending love and light to our government, our nation and everyone who can make real change.
and @jeanne-mayell I actually laughed about your dog poop reference! I think humor is also a way to heal from some of this trauma. ?

Regarding LP, I think the best thing they can do is hire a solid and reputable PR firm on the downlow, and then stay silent while they re-group and bring in a totally new and previously unaffiliated administration. A formal statement of repudiation of - and distancing from - the former bosses will be needed, along with an aggressive re-branding and reiteration of their mission.
It seems that the Lincoln Project has put Tara Setmeyer in charge of change. She's outspoken, but already deep in the top-chain of the organisation. Still hope they'll pull through. SOme of these ppl are partly responsible for the GoP today, however, if they're changing tunes are willing to change I'm all for it. Steve Schmidt made a lot of mistakes, but he's a smart guy. Interesting to see if he will try to get into politics as a congressman himself.
I still like TLP. They are, I think, part of the reason mango lost. As long as they deal with what's happened in an honest manner and make things right, as much as possible, I hope they stick around.
"the former guy" LOL Gotta love Biden.
The Supreme Court cleared the way for Manhattan DA to get his taxes but it will be subjected to grand jury secrecy
I am praying that @Lawrence's visions of Trump hitting the wall in March and fading from the "scene" entirely come to pass. Trumpism aka White Supremacy and the destruction of true democracy has done enough damage that will take years to repair already. The GOP is already splitting in two. Those who still want and back tRump (who has/will be announcing at CPAC he will come back in 2024 and "finish draining the swamp" There can be no true healing without accountability. There can be no forward progress and facing the imminent need to address climate change, inequality and health care until dealing with that is done.
I’m watching the Merrick Garland confirmation hearing today. He is definitely the right person for Attorney General. I was so disappointed that he was denied the opportunity to be on the Supreme Court, but now I see that this is where he can do the most good for our country. He just said, with his voice breaking, “This is the highest, best use for my skills to give back.” He is going to be approved, overwhelmingly.
Often, we can’t see the bigger picture. Today, I see the bigger picture. Thank you, Spirit.
Even though Trump is gone, why is there some residual darkness? Has most of it returned to the fringes of society?
I am still weaning myself back into watching the news (if that is an exceptable phrase!) I did watch a litle late nite CNN with Don Lemon re the AG hearings. I get a really good feeling from Garland, I think he, like Biden, is the right man for the job right now. Low key but very though. I read on line some of the Reptrumps comments and questions and honestly their main problem is that they thnk the average American is STUPID!!!!! Honestly do they think anyone has forgotten Billy Butt Barr? Underestimating the average American is going to be their downfall (I hope).
As for the SC well I hate to say it but I don't trust them as far as I can spit them. They have no integrety left in my book. Seriously, the wife of Justice Thomas paying for the buses to support an attempt to over throw the government. He should be made to resign and his wife arrested. By the way I wouldn't be surprised when all is said in done with the inverstigation into the attempted coop that she isn't arrrested.
As far as the investigation into the orange idiots taxes go, I can't say I am overly thrilled. Not that he shouldn't pay for his tax fraud, but he has been cheating on his taxes his whole life (according to his neice). It's kind of like closing the door after the cows escape! It's something that he will be held accountable for but, sorry in my book it isn't enough. Let's just hope that they re-open the Mueller investigation and finally get to the bottom of the real problem. The orange idiots association with the Russians. I firmly believe he has been in Putins pocket for years and has been manpulated due to his bigly ego to give classified info to his fuerer. He deserves to be totally exposed. And please great spirits in the sky MAKE HIS IDIOT KIDS SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!
Just my two cents.
The CEO of the Seattle Mariners has resigned now. Is there no end to the clown parade of racist dipsh*ts?
A quick explanation of the "grand jury rule."
Now that Vance will get Trump's taxes (absent Trump making another legal challenge or burns down the building that they are located in), he and his team will examine them. If they find no criminal issues (unlikely), then the tax information stays hidden from the public forever.
HOWEVER....if, as we hope, Trump's tax information provides proof of crimes, then Vance and his team will bring the information to a "grand jury." After the grand jury examines the information, they have the choice to issue an indictment (or indictments).
Now, the minute that an indictment is filed, then the tax information will likely be released to the public (or at least the basic information the taxes contain.) An indictment is a public record, and Vance will ensure that the indictment will be very detailed as to what the taxes reveal in order to strengthen the indictment.
Another thing-Trump himself doesn't necessarily need to be indicted. If, for example, one of Trump's underlings gets charged because he personally falsified information to help his boss get a loan, then the tax information can be released to prove the state's case (this is a normal tactic by the district attorney-go after the little fish and hope they lead you the the big, hamburger eating, orange fish).
Even though Trump is gone, why is there some residual darkness? Has most of it returned to the fringes of society? -- @enkasongwriter
@enkasongwriter. He expanded a Machiavellian way of doing politics, made it acceptable. Lying, attacking, targeting critics, has. become a way of operating among his followers and for the GOP in general. So that behavior is now a thing in ultra right politics but it will fade out, just as he will.
