@jsr78

Baba stated during her mediation on 9/7 :

I saw a coffin in the rotunda from above. Someone important passes and lies in state. I asked when and got October/November timeframe. I did not see any mourners -  just the coffin on its own.

Can anyone feel or see if this is our rock bottom of our descent onto the depths of hell, or does it get worse than this?  My empath nerves are feeling the strong pull towards something....  please be the light.

If Biden gets in perhaps the Democrats will try to expand the number of Supreme Court Justices to try to right this terrible wrong. Such outrageous hypocrisy by McConnell.  Merrick Garland has not been forgotten.

@jovesta make no mistake we are in a dark place currently. This is an extremely hard day and a time of mourning for our country and for many of us personally. As an empathic person I feel the collective grief and hopelessness, and the disillusionment and despair. There is more difficulty ahead, for sure. It feels gut wrenching. But, do not be afraid. We have gone through difficult times before. Much is at stake, and we will rise to the occasion. We will not be caged. We will not be owned. We will not be unheard. We will not be afraid! We will want to do better. We value the moral leadership of these icons and we will also value their perseverance and Life long fight for justice. We will apply their continence and push forward for a fair and just World. We will speak truth!

I see their passing as slightly different. I think it is a changing of the guard. They fought a long and great battle and have done their service. For us to move forward, we need a new batch of leaders to get us there and stay in their leadership roles thruout the change. The elder leaders we have now cannot accomplish that and by them passing at this crucial point, it forces the new leaders to act and take their new roles. If this were a quiet time, some of those new leaders would get complacent, but with the distinct charge in society today, they will all step up with feverish drive because their new seats are empty in a critical time.

I very much agree with this, and I remain convinced that this is the reason that Mr. Biden chose Ms. Harris as his VP.  Mr. Biden is 78 years old, and I'm sure he is more than aware that he may not have much time left.  I'm sure he is also aware that he is one of the old guard that must pass, and knowing these things, his choice of Ms. Harris was a conscious one.  I'm fairly certain he will not complete his first term, but that was never his purpose.  His purpose was to open the door to a powerful and competent woman who - because of entrenched cultural misogyny - could not open that door herself, and to  transfer the baton to a younger and more progressive generation.

No, not yet, but we will get there very soon, and after a period of necessary rest, we will stand again, and the rise will begin.  Politically, perhaps four to 6 months before the rise can begin, and economically, much longer than that.  I would ballpark the beginning of the economic rise at somewhere after 2023.

Thoughtful insight!

This from a friend:

According to Jewish tradition, a person who dies on Rosh Hashanah, which began tonight, is a tzaddik, a person of great righteousness.

She's a tzaddik with great power and influence.  Adonai [Hebrew word for God] has no choice but to listen to her argue!

It almost seems that in this most difficult of times, our greatest have been taken from us — Lewis, Vivian, RBG.... is it too coincidental that they have all left is now?  Is there a plan?  I asked this question last night."

Also Elijah Cummings is with them.

And as RBG passed, before it was announced, I was reading everything I could about the recently killed Breonna Taylor, who was put on the covers of Oprah's Magazine, breaking tradition that only shows Oprah herself on the covers, and this week on Vanity Fair. https://www.post-gazette.com/life/lifestyle/2020/08/26/Breonna-Taylor-Vanity-Fair-magazine-Ta-Nehisi-Coates/stories/202008280008. Another angel.

The dems better get their asses in gear and stop this next confirmation. We need to put a fire in them.

Mother Jones: A long list of GOP senators who promised not to confirm a Supreme Court nominee in an election year: https://www.motherjones.com/2020-elections/2020/09/a-long-list-of-gop-senators-who-promised-not-to-confirm-a-supreme-court-nominee-during-an-election-year/

We need to hold the hypocrites accountable.  The Senate Dems must hold them accountable and stall any confirmations.

So much that is fundamental to American jurisprudence, such as the interpretation of the commerce clause (what essentially gives the Fed gov't the authority to regulate certain things that states do) will be lost. The judges and justices appointed by the modern GOP aren't just conservative, or even right-wing, they are extremists. Alito is an extremist, Thomas too. The three others (Roberts, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh) less so, but still pretty out there. They don't believe the Fed gov't can do ANYTHING. This is dangerous to our system of government. This is why I fear what is happening now. Neither Biden nor any democratic president in the future will be able to do anything. They will pass legislation and some right wing group will sue to stop it, and eventually SCOTUS will render it void.

Is this the coming of the prediction that people will turn to the states, because the fed gov't will be useless? I fear it is.

This is the time for us to turn up the hope.  Turn it up in your hearts.  See RBG, Lewis, Cummings, and so many others working with us.  The Afterlife expands our abilities. I feel RBG let go because she realized when at the edge of the abyss that she could do even greater work in the beyond.

Without ego, we become greater, we spread our wings.

I see a great Native American shaman guiding us all. Saving the election means saving the garden we live in -- the trees, birds, oceans.  See us saving this precious earth. Help RBG et al do their work by expanding your own selves in hope.  Fight this fight.  Stand up. Do all you can.  Call your elected officials and demand that they do all they can. Get engaged in good trouble.

“The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.” - Mitch McConnell

“If an opening comes in the last year of President Trump’s term, and the primary process has started, we’ll wait until the next election.” - Sen. Lindsey Graham

"I proudly stand with my Republican colleagues in our shared belief – our advice and consent – that we should not vote on any nominee until the next president is sworn into office. The People will decide." - Sen. Ted Cruz

“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new President is installed.” -RBG
"The American people deserve to have a say in the selection of the next lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. The only way to empower the American people and ensure they have a voice is for the next President to make the nomination to fill" -Sen. John Cornyn

"The tremendous damage such a hyper-political environment would cause the court, nominee, and the nation. If the Senate considered a Supreme Court nominee during a heated presidential election campaign, the court would become even more political than it already is” -Senator Chuck Grassley

@jeanne-mayell

After hearing about RBG’s passing last night, I read about the outpouring of grief for her loss and fear about the future.  In the midst of grieving for her myself, I looked inward and discovered that surprisingly, I was at peace, that I felt calm.  Instead of fear, I still feel that calmness.  I understand the import of her passing and the coming shift of the Supreme Court to the right and what that could mean for the decades ahead.  It’s a frightening scenario.

Then as I was waking this morning, I heard a melody and fragments of a hymn, a Christmas carol of all things.  The lyrics that kept repeating were:

“Above thy deep and dreamless sleep

The silent stars go by.

Yet in thy dark streets shineth

The everlasting Light.

The hopes and dreams of all the years

Are met in thee tonight.“

At first, I couldn’t even identify the hymn without hearing the introductory lines, but these are the lyrics of “O Little Town of Bethlehem.”  I always stop and think about music that comes to me in the night or upon rising and believe they are messages from Spirit.  At first these music messages seem incredibly random, but they always have a message or reassurance for me.  The reassurance is also for those reading this site:  we are not alone in these momentous times.  Be comforted.

Taken in a larger context, the town of Bethlehem was on the verge of a great change, a gift from God.  We are on the verge of change, too.  Peace to you.

I felt such a sense of despair last night when I first heard this news about RBG's passing. Soon thereafter, however, I began to shift and just feel that this is part of the collective karma. Her passing came at this time to insure that people will not be complacent - and also to sound the sirens that it is not just the presidency that matters, but the senate as well. It also exposes the corruption of the GOP quite clearly. With each passing of such huge contributors to history over the course of 2020, I feel as though it it just another catalyst for change - deep and lasting change.

Although I live in "deep red" Tennessee, I donated to our democratic candidate for Senate this morning. TN is a non-voting state (48/50) and only 30% of the electorate here voted in 2016. That is what needs to change - we all have an investment in this - and we have to believe in the possibility that getting in good, necessary trouble could bring about a change.

@bluebelle, I also wonder if the disastrous fall of Jerry Falwell Jr., Trump endorser and hypocrite leader of Christian Right, could prompt a Christian shift away from Trump.

I hadn't realized it until now, but when I googled "the fall of Jerry Falwell, Jr." I not only got all the stories of his sex-capades and sex and alcohol photo he posted himself, and sweetheart deals he made with handsome young men, but finally a real fall earlier this month, which exposed a drunken fall.  You can't make this stuff up.

Reported in the Wall Street Journal and  https://www.wsj.com/articles/after-jerry-falwell-jr-a-reckoning-for-liberty-university-11599384600

The Evangelical political bloc is a cult, a right wing religious/political cult and a perversion of true Christianity.  By pledging their loyalty and devotion to this corrupt and most unChristian of presidents, the Evangelicals have lost any moral authority they had left.  I wonder if that entire movement will fade away with the boomer generation, because the Evangelicals are losing young people.  May Jerry Falwell Jr.’s fall symbolize the fall of the entire religious cult.
