I seem to recall someone (@jeanne-mayell) predicting that within a decade DC would become a shell of it’s former self?

@theungamer, I seem to recall a prediction like that as well.  Have to do some searching for it.

I just read the new predictions. So disheartened to see all the ones about Twitler still being relevant by the end of next year. ?

Are we never going to be rid of that gigantic flaming fascist asshole?

@polarberry    I am with you! Everyday I just say I wish he would just go away so we can live in some semblance of peace. I am so tired of feeling such hatred towards him and his cronies. Then I end up feeling bad that I feel so much hatred toward them because it is not a good feeling. But I cannot help being angry and feeling hatred towards the lying orange blob and his ilk because they are so blatant in their evilness, obstructionism, lying, cheating, hatred to the less fortunate, racism and political antics.

@lenor  @polarberry    I think of TFG and cronies as little as possible. Doing anything else just drains my energy and probably sends it to them.

I wrote that. I had put it in a summary of long-term predictions on the Prediction Page, where I have over the years posted my long-term predictions. It was back around 2012 that I had visions of bands of marauding Robin Hoods in the future, with bows and arrows, taking the law into their own hands. At the time I thought these were good guys, but now I wonder if I had been seeing the insurrectionists who think they are saving America from the Establishment.  I also saw barricades around the Capitol Building.  These visions were in the early to mid teens (2012 - 2015) and I thought they were going to happen in the mid to later 2020's. But I think they already happened.

"I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace; that two or more are called a law firm; and that three or more become a Congress!"

*This is a line spoken by the character of John Adams in the Broadway musical "1776". Regrettably, there's no evidence the man himself actually said this, but it's fun anyway ;-)

I try not to. It would help if the media would stop running stories about every stupid utterance he makes and stop plastering pictures of his orange roosterhead everywhere.

They feed him, and his truly pathetic need for relevance, just like they gave him a voice in 2016.

@lenor

I'm right there with you, except I don't feel bad about how I feel about them anymore.

The modern-day GOP is the biggest threat this country has ever faced, imo. They don't believe in democracy, if they ever did. All they care about is power and profit, and they have made it abundantly clear there is nothing they won't do to get it.

Dems and progressives need to stay angry, and stop bringing knives to gun fights.

When I think of the GOP in its present state, I see the Third Reich and wonder how many people at the time felt they had to be nice to them until the worst happened. It's an ugly dark fascist cult.

@jeanne-mayell

I remember back in 2016, the media, and people, were saying, don't call them Nazis, that's overreacting, that's too disturbing a comparison, it's not the same, blah, blah, blah.

Uh-huh. When you emulate the dress, the slogans, the gestures, the flag, and most disgustingly, the ideology, that's exactly what you are.

@jeannemi Yes, those visions you remember were combinations of a few visions.  The lights turned off was a vision of the Trump WH.  The  people living off the land was a vision I initially had and posted a few years in a row.  I believe some other people here may have also seen that. The young people was also a vision I had and others. Thanks for reminding us!

As much as I like the idea of Congress being less corrupt, I just don't don't know how I feel about less gov oversight or relevance.

When I think of government, I usually think of FDR and real leadership that helped shape this country for the better. Just imagining that dissipating makes me feel a bit nostalgic.

Well to bad for him

The White House on Friday formally blocked an attempt by former President Donald Trump to withhold documents from Congress related to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, setting up a legal showdown between the current and former presidents over executive privilege.

President Biden has determined that an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified as to any of the documents.”

The constitutional protections of executive privilege should not be used to shield, from Congress or the public, information that reflects a clear and apparent effort to subvert the Constitution itself.”

The White House now is authorizing the National Archives to turn over an initial batch of documents that fell under a broad category requested by the committee, covering Trump’s actions and communications on Jan. 6, including his rally at The Ellipse on White House grounds, and subsequent meetings and communications throughout the day.

That request sought everything from Twitter messages, phone and visitor logs, and any videos and photos of events he participated in. It also included documents and communications related to then-Vice President Mike Pence’s movements and security, and broadly any other documents referring to the rally at The Ellipse and the subsequent violent riot at the Capitol, as well as to planning around the ceremonial event of counting of electoral votes during a joint session of Congress

@blackandwhite I am in 110% agreement with you. Our technology and our numbers are just too large for local matters to be the main focus. I mean I am all for a turning away from focused politics at Washington, but I am not all for a lack of federal/national/planetary/solar government. There are things that only a federal government can do well.

So yeah, I'm actually bothered by this predication of the future.

That said I hope it means a change of how things are rather than a removal of the idea and purpose of higher level governments.

@herukane I always read that prediction as “they are there but we care about it about as much as two farts in the breeze” (my grandmas favorite saying).

@dannyboy   Ha! Your grandma musta known my Great Aunt... "you talkin' like a goose a pootin'"

There are fine lines to walk between too much and too little as far as governance goes. Sadly it has been shown that there is always plenty of them willingly to step in and take advantage at all levels. That is why laws are needed to outline acceptable actions/ behaviors because self-governance has not been working.

Time for a change for sure.

I know I ask this alot, but does anyone seeing Trump going away EVER!?

It seems as though he is getting stronger as time goes on.  It is sad, but I see him as the biggest threat out there right now.  Period.

Now, many of you are probably saying "what about climate change?"  Well, I would argue that if Trump and his Republican minions were not around, we could actually pass some common-sense laws and work on climate change.  But thanks to Trump uniting the Republican fanatics, they will continue to do everything they can to keep Democrats and Biden from governing.  Thus, while we are having to focus on the Trump Terrorists and their efforts to destroy American democracy as we know it, we are taking valuable time away from solving the global warming crisis.

I just want Trump GONE!  I don't care how.  Put in prison.  Goes bankrupt.  Goes overseas and lives with Putin in marital bliss!  I care not!  I just want him gone and out of our lives forever.  I want him and his name to become so toxic that a decade from now, the word "Trump" will be synomous with "whinny loser or fraud" and "pulling a Trump" to mean "attacking the system in order to cover up the fact someone lost and can't accept the outcome."

But it seems that he is getting stronger.  I sincerely fear he will run and win again in 2024.  And that scares me to death.  Because Trump is the type that will probably get access to all the voting rolls, find out who voted against him, and then ship them to concentration camps disguised as "re-education detention facilities."  And because Republicans are as evil as he is, they will let him.

I am so sick and tired of this man.  He was given great talent and resources most never see, and yet look how he uses them.  I wish I can go without giving him another thought, but I live in a red state where I see "Trump 2024" signs on one out of five houses and have to hear people say how Trump was cheated and how there will be a civil war soon to make the "evil liberals" pay.

I am truly anxious.  No scandal seems big enough to bring him down.  I remember someone predicting that Trump would be in a dark room all alone one day asking himself how he came to be in his position, but that is looking less and less likely as time goes by.

Can any of you send a little light my way?  Being surrounded by Trump Traitors all the time can be very draining.  I just wish he would go away somehow, but short of him dying before 2024 via overindulgence of his hookers and hamburgers, I don't see that happen.  And because of everything going on, I truly believe that if he runs, he will win.

@allyn I completely share your very same concerns....and I too am in that same "red" state. I have long had suspicions that the "audits" were/are being used to "take names" for a future "traitor list."

But...this site and the talented people who can glimpse the future don't see his evil plans working out and that goes a long way to easing my anxiety. I think we all have parts to play and have to do what we can to help our cause. I am in the stage now of trying to determine how I can best serve.

I enjoy reading your posts where you explain some of the legal aspects of what we see. I am glad you are part of this community.
