I too have been feeling heaviness lately-lots going on in the world to spur such feelings, as well as the feeling something on a personal level is approaching. Had friends visiting from the western part of the state last week-so lots of beach time, & a friend staying here the last few days as he gets his house ready for the market. Gut says he'll be sorry he sold, as I kind of feel he, the wife & kids will be returning, even tho they don't see it coming. Telling them won't make any difference- non-believers.
However, on my way to the beach last week, I saw a simple window sticker on a car that made me chuckle out loud to myself, so I'll share to hopefully at least momentarily get a few here to grin:

Here's the intuitive feeling I'm getting regarding all the unease we're sensing. (Particularly as it pertains to the "rattling the cage" analogy used earlier) - I keep seeing (for months) the crazies that we read about so often - the ones that make us go "Crap, do we need to worry about 2022?" standing on boxes that, for lack of a better analogy, are labeled "Megaphones" - Like many shortages since this whole pandemic began, they've got them all, which is why it becomes so hard to filter out all the noise and why so many of us feel like we're in this minority while the world goes to heck.
What I keep getting aside from that megaphone holding soapbox is that everyone is tired of this. And I think the longer the pandemic goes on and the longer the spotlight is shown on the people who were anti lockdown who are now anti vaccine - I don't think it's a look that's going to win many elections - especially when the candidates that seem to be surfacing in Michigan are all pro-Trump, pro voter restriction, anti vaccine, anti mask, etc. That's my "read" on things - the big megaphone stockpile in the hands of a few, and the (at best) annoyance and (at worst) sheer disdain for the people stretching this out.
NOTE on last post: There are good reasons already listed here for why it's felt so close and present lately - all part of the great turning! But the unease has been with me for awhile and this is what I get when I think on it.
@dannyboy This is one good thing to come out of the COVID resurgence--- it has pissed off a lot of otherwise patient people who did the right thing, masked and got vaxxed. And they (including me) are rightly blaming the "megaphone" people and their followers. Sensible people are getting really, really fed up with idiocy in all forms.
Well things are about to get interesting for Trump and company.
The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol demanded records Wednesday of communications related to the assault among federal officials and a host of Trump staffers and allies, including some family members.
The wide-ranging requests are a window into the broad and comprehensive way the committee appears to be investigating the attack, as well as the run-up to it and its aftermath.
Among Thompson’s demands were several to the National Archives and Records Administration for documents and communications received, prepared or sent from Dec. 1 to Jan. 20 about the counting of the Electoral College vote and the potential for demonstrations, violence or attacks on or around Jan. 6.
That includes all documents and communications “relating in any way” to remarks by Trump and all other speakers at the Jan. 6 demonstrations, as well as all calendars, schedules and logs that tracked meetings and events held by Trump and by then-Vice President Mike Pence, Thompson wrote.
Notably, Thompson also demanded all documents and communications at all within the White House on Jan. 6 involving or related to more than 30 people, such as members of Trump’s family, members of the Trump administration and close personal confidants of Trump. The request named Rudy Giuliani, a personal lawyer for Trump; Mark Meadows, Trump’s chief of staff; White House counsel Pat Cipollone; national security adviser Robert O’Brien; Trump’s three eldest children, Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.; first lady Melania Trump; former national security adviser Michael Flynn; and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.
Thompson also asked the National Archives for all White House visitors and call logs from Jan. 6.
In his letter to the National Archives, Thompson also sought records and communications between White House officials and state government officials in states where the 2020 election results were close, including Republican Govs. Doug Ducey of Arizona and Brian Kemp of Georgia.
Letters to the seven other agencies demanded records dealing with numerous matters related to the attacks, including the gathering and dissemination of intelligence and security preparations around the Capitol beforehand.
45 has gone bonkers over the records requested by the committee. He's threatening to claim executive privilege. Someone please tell him he's not the executive anymore. Smiling devil emoji here. :)
