The virus will ravage thru the republican states, hitting mostly the less educated who dont continue the practice of social distancing and older populations(Trumps base) and that can end up in a landslide Democratic landslide victory based solely on that decision.

Isn't it ironic; many of the people in my life who support him have physical disabilities. My cousin is 75, grossly overweight and has a disabled quadriplegic son. Both are endangered by this and both have totally swallowed the kool-aide. She posted on Facebook yesterday, a copy/paste of some wild conspiracy theory that this virus was cooked up in a laboratory here in the US and Obama and Bill Gates were involved. I've seen it before, I think it's right out of Russia. One of my other cousins was disputing that, the woman's son kept posting: 'MAGA, MAGA'. These people have no idea they are being used.

I live in a blue city in a very red state. That being said, I am VERY grateful to our mayor for imposing a "stay at home" order. I can say - in real time - that @jeanne-mayell is absolutely correct that we are following our local communities. I've watched a parking garage at my place of employment get converted to a possibly medical facility. My own city is amazing - my governor, on the other hand, is completely worthless. It's amazing to see the difference (even one state away in KY!). I for one don't wish to be a casualty because I have a worthless, Mango supporting, do nothing governor. As Mango further disintegrates, I have found that it's not worth upsetting myself to tune into anything he says or does/doesn't do - it's all lies.
When I saw Pence do the elbow bump, I thought that he at least seems to get it.
Perhaps he looks influential because he is trying to do the job assigned to him.
When will they muzzle Trump? I am tired of all this practice in tolerance I do towards him and his ilk.

Oh SeaTurtle26!!! I hear you!!!! We are in one of the Trumpiest states ever !!!! and his most ardent supporters here are people he could care less about!!!!!! We have a Trump worshipping governor..good thing your mayor has the guts to do what is right!!!!! I am to the Northwest of you.. in one of the highest numbers of cases in the state..all starting from a church reunion that had attendees of 1000 people..the choir sang and unknowingly shared it everywhere!!! Then....we have azzhats like this Scott A McMillan..a California attorney .spouting off on Twitter saying ...dayyum.. I wonder if he kisses his momma with that mouth!!!!!! "The fundamental problem is whether we are going to tank the entire economy to save 2.5% of the population which is (1) generally expensive to maintain, and (2) not productive" SMH.....
@journeywithme2 thank you! Always happy to know a fellow soul who understands the pain of living in such a hard-core red state (despite my amazing blue city within!). As a single mom, and woman of color, I don't have to venture far to feel "othered" particularly this era - but I am finding that at least here some folks are taking more joy in nature, and promoting the unity we need in our community (especially in the aftermath of the tornados we had here and now with COVID-19). And people who have never been "political" or spoken out before are starting to do that - for the sake of humanity.
yes... the most wonderful thing is the way the communities pull together in times of crisis and need...and we have more generous souls than those that screech the loudest waving their red hats and ignorance. As a single mom, who escaped and survived domestic violence back in a time when the good ole boys said what happens between a man and wife is nobody's business and raised two children on my own.... I understand some of your struggle... tho my white privilege did not give me the automatic deficit given towards those of brown,yellow,red skins.... only the ones given to having a vagina. I have long worked harder for less money than those with a penis...trained them in fact.. and passed over when time came for promotions (no offense intended to the good men here) I do find it interesting that this "novel virus" is infecting more men than women.... and wonder what it will take to get these old white men to give up their "supremacy" that they created. Sadly... I fear it will get much worse for all of us before it gets better with all of them sailing against the wind. I pray for us all.

I am getting the drift that Pence has had it up to here with his boss. I wonder if for some time he's been working behind the scenes to moderate Trump and/or subtly block his agenda? I don't doubt Pence is what he say he is, a Fundamentalist Christian. There are some decent ones out there and we may be surprised later to find him as part of the silent resistance.
