@polarberry

(Every time I try to quote what you have written, the silly happy face in your post becomes the size of my computer screen.  It is so big the  head is bigger than mine and the words you wrote are smaller than fine print. Think along the lines of the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters as it trods down the street, but with a smiley face and tongue sticking out. )

? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Anyway, to my point, you ARE a light worker.  You may not realize it but you are a beautiful light worker. .  You are helpful, kinds, care and as you said are a fighter.  Most everyone here who shares their visions and thoughts and  predictions isn't  sure they will come true.  I question myself all the time.  I am a work in progress.  We are all works in progress, every single one of us.

Your intuition led you here.  You are supposed to be here.  Case and point, you just held up light for Anita.  Do not ever feel you are lacking in some way and shouldn't be here.  We are more with you than without you.  We are brighter and stronger.  We are blessed to have you here, all of us sharing the journey together.

First of all, you simply cannot get any cooler than Stay-Puft. He's the man! LOL

Second, thank you. That's very sweet and I appreciate it. I posted a lengthy post a while back, but deleted it. I really want and need to explain why I don't participate in read the future or meditation, my background and everything, but I am worried about upsetting someone. I don't want it to come across like I am criticizing or judging anything that is a part of what our members do. It's more about me and why I struggle with things like intuition and cards and such. It's very difficult for me to put into words.

@anita  I wish I had something to say that would make you feel better. I'm having a terrible time too. I'm sending you all my love and as much positive energy as I can muster. Don't despair. xoxo

@polarberry

You don't need to explain if you don't want to, that of course is fine.    Regardless of how you feel about being intuitive or using cards, I stand my what I said earlier.  Your are a light worker, a point of light here on the forum.   We value and respect you.

Thank you. ❤️

I really do want to explain, not only to provide some background but to get opinions and insight on what I've experienced.

This site has been a sanctuary during these very dark times. Thank you again Jeanne and everyone.

@anita

Hi Anita!

First of all, knowing I am not alone is a huge help.  I can come here and I feel safe.  I feel held in love and supported.

How else do I get through these times?

Well, sometimes it is finding humor in weird places.  Like I mentioned above, in trying to quote Polarberry, his emoji of the smiley face with the tongue sticking out got HUGE on my computer screen. No matter how many times I tried to quote his post, the huge goofy face over took my screen.  I took that as a sign I needed to lighten up a bit, had a good laugh, thought of the Stay Puff Marshmallow guy and decided to write about that.  I instantly became lighter.

It seems odd to laugh sometimes when so much of what is happening in our world is so dire and oppressive, but we need humor.  We need to find ways to enjoy life's lighter moments, to recognize them and allow them inside to lift us.

Each day I try to find small things to be grateful for because being in a state of gratitude also lifts me up.  I wrote yesterday about walking through Trader Joe's and noticing all the new fall products they had in their store.  I was so grateful to FEEL fall, to Think  fall and to be able to get some food which I knew would bring fall into my being and fall scents into the  air in my home.  Summer was extremely difficult.  The hottest on record where I live shattering so many records.  I also had to do things I never imagined like drive through different states during a pandemic, stay at hotels and help settle my daughter a new home iin a horribly infected Covid  state so she could begin her new life.  Then I had to turn around, leave her there  and come home without her.  One of the most difficult journeys I have ever made.  I had to face my fear very day of that journey.

But, the community here lifted me up, so very high.  I felt their support and love.  Not only did I journey on this scary path with my beloved family together as a family unit, but also together with my online community family in here spirit as well.  This family right here lifted meetups so high during that time.

So, if you can call out like you did today and say "I am scared, I am terrified" and you get a response from someone that says " I hear you, you are not alone", know you are so blessed.  Allow their love to enter your heart and help lift you up.

 ❤️

@anita

Also adding... ( I ran out of characters in the other post because I write/talk too much  haha.  I blame Stay Puff Marshmallow Boy and the Silly Happy Face EMOJI,  and I am sticking to my story)

- TURN OFF THE NEWS!!

Do NOT listen to it!   If you desire, read it,  BUT DO NOT LISTEN TO IT.

Turn on music that makes you happy.  Cook, work, think . post with that music in the background.

And again,  add  fun and humor into your daily life.  It is not a betrayal to laugh during these times.  We need to find humor in the absurd  in the everyday.

@lovendures you are such a breath of fresh air for me.  I didn't think I could laugh today, but that emoji getting HUGE on your screen did it. I can see it, and the stay puff guy too, 10 stories high like in Ghostbusters.  And big hug to you, @Anita. We will get through this. We will rise from it.  Our hearts will expand too.

I asked if Trump's nomination would go through and I pulled the four of cups. "Missed opportunity" from what I searched.

Cut selections from electoral-vote.com, a site I read every morning. Let's hope Democrats fight Ruth-lessly!

Compromise: sixth conservative justice is not quite as important as a fifth to McConnell, or to Trump. Meanwhile, McConnell is looking at the possibility of his party losing the White House, and possibly also the Senate. There may be a deal to be made here, along the lines of "We won't kill the tax cut if you honor the McConnell Rule"

Parliamentary Tricks: gum up the works of the Senate. Pulling that off for six months or a year would be tough, but four or five weeks? Maybe. For example, the Senate has a spending bill coming up that, by the rules of the chamber, gets priority over other matters. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) could propose a gaggle of amendments, and insist on a bunch of debate, and otherwise make a pest of himself. The House could also play a role here. When the bill to fund the government comes up shortly, suppose House Democrats insert a provision that no judicial appointments may be considered by the Senate within 90 days of a federal election?

Court Packing: Assuming the Democrats get at least 50 seats plus the White House in November, and assuming they are willing to kill the Senate filibuster, and assuming they can keep their whole caucus unified behind such maneuvers, it is within the power of Congress to change the composition of the Supreme Court.

Lawsuit: Democrats could argue that when he applied the McConnell Rule to Merrick Garland, the Majority Leader established a precedent that is just as binding as an actual Senate rule. Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough might (or might not) be asked to weigh in, but she would likely agree. Either way, Senate Democrats could file a lawsuit in federal court arguing that by disregarding the McConnell Rule, McConnell is guilty of an abuse of his discretionary authority. It's plausible that the Democrats might even prevail on the merits. More importantly, however, as we have learned many times in the past four years (see taxes, Donald Trump's; subpoenas, congressional), it generally takes a while for the various levels of the Court system to make their rulings. Toss in the holiday season, when the courts are closed, and it's entirely possible that such a lawsuit could run out the clock on Donald Trump's term if he is not reelected.

Today I yelled at the radio when I heard about Romney. But I remembered it’s the days of awe in Judaism and we must stone for our sins. I reminded myself he is a fellow human even though I don’t like his soul.

Later I got the song “everything counts” by Depeche Mode in my head.

The grabbing hands

Grab all they can

"Well, there's something you don't see everyday!"

"I tried to think of the most harmless thing! Something I loved from my childhood! Something that could never, ever possibly destroy us, Mr. Stay-Puft!"

"Oh, s**!!"

@anita it’s difficult not feel despair when there’s constant negativity clouding us everyday.  If we consume and absorb the negativity it will keep us in the dark and weigh our spirits down.  I’m not going to lie and tell you that I’m a happy Sunflower 100% of the time but I do find a morning mediation helps along with daily journaling.  Sometimes when you feel such strong emotions you can channel it towards a beautiful creation of art.  I have been doing several challenges with my sister and as funny as it sounds, it does bring me joy knowing that I’m taking breaks throughout the day to get 200 squats, 300 jumping jacks and 100 sit-ups in.  I’m in the Bay Area so my husband and I have been doing weekend trip north to Guerneville be with the Redwoods. I pick up a book instead of watching the news and spend more time connecting with my friend and families via phone and zoom. Also watch what you eat since it could add unwanted stress to your body.  Do nice little things for yourself, maybe do an at home steam therapy or mask peel or even paint your toes a funky color.  I’m sending you oodles of virtual hugs and a scent of lemongrass to soothe your mind.  Stay safe and please know you’re not alone.

share the love and light

I wasn't saying dont threaten Mitch with it. I aas just stating that they can't blast it publically because that will turn off some swing voters and drive support in GOP.voters that might otherwise stay home.

And lets not forget that During a 1983 family vacation, Mitt Romney drove 12 hours with his dog on top of the car in a windshield-equipped carrier.  I'm sorry but that says a LOT to me right there. ?

Tricia,  I had forgotten about that incident but now remember that well because it hurt Romney's popularity more than any other news about him. There is an entire Wikipedia page about it.   And as the story goes, the poor dog emitted pee and diarrhea during the 12 hour trip which trickled down the windshield causing Romney to have to pull over.  Romney lived in MA at the time and when asked about it, said there was no law against it. However Mass animal cruelty laws prohibit anyone from carrying an animal "in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel or inhuman manner.

I have mixed feelings about it. Part of me agrees, and part of me thinks it ought to be broadcast that if it comes to it, expanding the court will be done to protect healthcare. Very few people, except for MAGATS who are too dumb to understand that their pre-existing coverage comes from the ACA, are going to be happy about losing it.

It will be interesting to see what Biden says. It is one of the debate topics. Twitler will deny that he is trying to kill it, and I hope the moderator, or Biden himself, calls him a liar right there on stage.

Isn't there a quote about how you can judge a society by how they treat their animals?

Well it looks like the Dems aren't going to fight this or they are holding their cards really close to the chest. Court Packing maybe? But only if Senate goes blue too. Of course then I could see Republicans just adding enough to control the court everytime they get power back since they have no morals. Filibuster needs to go either way. It wasn't suppose to be used this way. This is not democracy or the will of the people.

Food for thought. If Romney votes to confirm Trump's nomination then he will be the first and only Senator to vote guilty on impeachment then vote to confirm that guilty (by his own vote) president's nomination. Republicans have won the Presidency popular vote once in the last seven times but have confirmed 4 and now possibly 5 nominations in that time span. Since 1969, Republican Presidents have gotten 16 nominations confirmed compared to only 4 for Democratic Presidents. But they are the ones who started the war over the Supreme Court by not even considering Obama's moderate nomination and now pushing someone through DURING an election. I truly hope this bites them in the butts!

I've heard it as both animals and prisoners, but either way its saying society is judged on how it treats its weakest and most helpless members, no matter their classification.
