Last night I did a tarot reading on this situation. I asked what we can expect to happen in the next 6 months as a result of RBG's passing.

I'll spare you all the detailed analysis, but the tl;dr version is that Republicans will make gains in the immediate future, but these gains will be divisive and ultimately cause their fortune to reverse, leading to their sorrow.

I take this to mean basically what we already expected: that they will ram a replacement through before the election but that doing so will energize voters and lead to their defeat. Let's hope.

I feel the situation is not as dire. Though I did give into catastrophic thinking Friday when I learned of her death. I had just come off a hard, uncertain shift. There are enough vulnerable Republican senate seats that Mitch may not get his votes because of the election cycle. Even if he does, there is no law that prevents SCOTUS from being expanded.

With respect, RBG was needed to mentor the two new female justices that were placed 2010-2011 time frame. I believe we needed her until the moment she left. There are myriad stories of folks sitting vigil at the Supreme Court. There is a groundswell of feeling for her that I feel will assist transformative changes.

When Liz Warren was recalling her friendship with RBG, she reminded us Hope is not given. We create it.

Hello! If I might put my two cents in-- or my cards, rather---

I had a sense of foreboding all Friday, which I chalked up to stress as I'm about to move, and when I saw the news I relaxed. I'm brokenhearted but my sixth sense said, this was why I had that feeling. I pulled some cards on this to see what they have to say...

So with Death, Ace of Cups, Five of Cups, I see the outpouring of grief for RBG. Eight of Swords plus Ten of Pentacles, Page of Cups plus Ten of Wands- I see people motivated by greed. I see upcoming battle, and a female nominee in the Justice card. Then the Five of Swords, Two of Wands, Six of Cups, Emperor- lots of chest puffing, childish behavior, more battle. However, in the Page of Swords plus Six of Wands, I think I see integrity winning out. Four of Swords is a period of rest and the Queen of Cups is a very different female nominee. When I straight up asked, will the GOP get a nominee through, I got the High Priestess.

Folks, it looks like the GOP is not going to succeed and I am wondering if it's because of a woman (High Priestess). My money is on Lisa Murkowski or Nancy Pelosi.

@stillnessnmind, that is a beautiful quote: Hope is not given, we create it. That is something we all should remember and keep holding on to.

I do hope you're right about not succeeding with this, but I'm not sure what you're saying about Murkowski and Pelosi.  Sen. Murkowski may be one of the people who help prevent it, but Pelosi in the Speaker of the House, which has nothing to do with Supreme Court confirmations.

@tgraf66 She's been on the news talking about leading the fight. The House may impeach him to stop the vote. I'm leaning more towards Murkowski but I never count out Pelosi.

@moonbeam

So agree a powerful concept and beautufuj quote.

"Hope is not given, we create it "

But i love all inspirational quotes and quotations.

This one touched my heart that inspite of everything Christopher Reeve had been through,  he is quoted as having said "Once you choose hope, anything’s possible."

Thank you Timo! You've added  a great 3rd quote!  ? ??

"@michele-b and @moonbeam Love these quotes! I will add,

You are so right on!

Without that we slip and slide backwards and sideways and even upside down!
