@baba. May it be so, regarding Liz Cheney. I haven’t much liked her staunch conservatism, but I sure appreciate her integrity now. Does anyone have a read on where this is going for her? I have wondered if she might become an Independent, as her party has all but turned its back on her.
@lowtide There is a prediction for June that a republican is going to leave the party. Anyone who leaves is a smart cookie.
I haven't been thinking much about Cheney specifically. I think this move by the GOP will tempt 1 or 2 Senate Republicans to become Independents. @lenor, Lisa Murkowski is a strong candidate for the June defection. She won as a write-in candidate in 2010 after being primaried, so her brand is powerful enough that she doesn't have to show any fealty to a major party. Plus, Alaska voters approved ranked choice voting last year, and that method of voting makes it easier for non-partisan politicians to get traction.
@coyote I just watched the video and all I could think of is Joe Biden and the peace and calm surrounding him. He is so much what we needed today. I bookmarked this video to watch whenever the darkness becomes too much.
Perhaps Liz Cheney will end up getting the Profile in Courage Award like Romney did. I guess it depends upon what happens next but she sure is courageous. I admire her, don't like her politics but admire her stance within her party.
@baba I really want to see what happens to Ron Johnson. He and Gaetz. Horrible men.
During the Circle of Light meditation on Wednesday, I had a premonition about the Congressional elections in 2022. Even though political experts are now predicting that the GOP will take the House because of Census changes, I sensed that the Democrats will take both the House and the Senate in 2022.
@bluebelle Thanks for posting this wonderful vision. We need these visions. I remembered yesterday when you mentioned your vision about 2022, that I had a vision during the Circle of Light about a month ago that we were going to be okay, that the Republicans were not going to surge up again. I mentioned it to the group afterwards but don't remember the details.
@jeanne-mayell. I didn’t get an email notifying me that you responded to my post. Maybe the glitch is limited to me. If I get a notification, I will let you know.
Back to the weekly Circle of Light, I think a lot of people have had interesting visions and insights during our group meditations. Maybe we should start keeping notes.
This is an excellent idea! I'm in. When we send healing to someone, we can get some mighty good visions. When we send healing to the world, we can also get visions.
posted by @jeanne-mayell,
Wondering if you or anyone saw that Senator would switch parties and stay in office or leave the Senate altogether.
@jeanne-mayell, I didn't see that senator leaving office, at least not at the present time. I sensed that person switching to independent for the period he/she remained in the Senate. I couldn't get a feel for whether that senator would run again.
@jeanne-mayell and @bluebelle, I'm glad you both had positive visions about 2022. At the moment I can't get any vision of what might occur in that election; things feel too nuts right now for me to see beyond it. (I just had a flash of the Tasmanian Devil from the Bugs Bunny cartoons -- I rest my case!)
@deetoo real Tasmanian Devils are slow moving, but extremely loud. They are also pretty odorous, owing to their scavenging diet.
I think the fake kind and the real kind, in spite of their differences, are each in their own way good analogues to what is going on with Republican politics at the moment.
Perhaps Liz Cheney will end up getting the Profile in Courage Award like Romney did. I guess it depends upon what happens next but she sure is courageous. I admire her, don't like her politics but admire her stance within her party.
i love ya Lovendures, but i have to disagree this time.
Liz Cheney came out against gay marriage, even tho her very own sister is married to another woman. She also defended the use of torture by the Bush administration. Torture! I am sorry, but any "courage" awards she gets can just go right up on the shelf next to all of her Asshole Awards.
@unk-p has a point. Just because the bar has been set so low doesn't mean we should be handing out awards to people who are slightly less than despicable.
I feel the same way (love @lovendures, not so much love for Liz Cheney). Liz, her father, and most of the republicans over the last 40+ year lit the fire. Now it's become an inferno and a few of them are like, oooh, it's way to hot over here.
I do believe we should recognize the folks who themselves are recognizing sanity and calling out the "big lie," but what Liz is doing is what all elected members of congress should be doing. As @Coyote writes, the bar is pretty low these days.
There is no bottom with these people. Losing an election leads to greater voter restrictions. If recounts don't go your way hire some crazy Q-anon people to conduct a new "recount." Don't like that voters are protesting? Pass laws to limit protests. I'd like to say I'm done being astounding by these people but I remain constantly alarmed by their never-ending and diabolically creative ways to lead us ever closer to fascism.
I've said this before: the predictions on this site give me hope that not only is a turnaround coming, we may actually be in it already and just not able to see the forrest for the trees. However, I do feel a sense of, if not outright doom, then extremely serious concern. There is window to right the ship. Let's all recognize that. Vote, send healing energy, educate yourselves, try to do the same with others.
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, and all who nurture and love!
I had a vision during the Wednesday meditation with Jeanne.
I saw Charlie McCarthy with a monocle, and then Howdy Doody in his cowboy suit, then switched to a white sailor suit and he saluted. Was given the words, "Shenanigans In The Navy." The images are dated so I am believing this is something that is uncovered about the past.
