Hi, Everyone: I can't remember who predicted this on RTF night in June but someone saw T still as president but it was as though he wasn't any where to be found. He was still in but not in. Maybe him escaping to Mar-A-Lago is happening soon. I think when the election is certified and he's run out of law suits, he'll be gone.

I hope that the January card is also indicative of the way that the Georgia Senate race will unfold. I can imagine that if the Republicans win, many in the collective will feel unenthused because they know that McConnell will engage in his usual blocking tactics. But if Democrats win, then Schumer will be Majority leader (by one vote, but who cares!?). The collective may feel energized because they know that Democrats will honestly try to work with Republicans and find compromises. But if Republicans try again to block laws and engage in obstruction, then Democrats can always destroy the filibuster and proceed without them.
Yes, no one wants to destroy the filibuster. Not even Democrats. But if McConnell continues to act the same way he did during the Obama years and after Democrats took the House in 2018, then we may not have an option, as every day we delay means that thousands more will die. I think history will not judge Democrats too harshly if they are forced to make that move. But that move can only be made if Democrats win the Senate, so it is imperative that we win Georgia.
I am sorry. I want peace and good will so badly, yet I don't trust Republicans and McConnell to give it a chance, as they have made their political careers on "owning the libs." I don't think Biden can succeed for the next two years if Republicans maintain control of the Senate, so I am praying that it flips to Democratic control in January. Remember, a Senate controlled by Republicans are also beholden to Trump, who will try to keep relevant and encourage Republican Senators to fight Biden at every turn. And because they want to appeal to Trump's base, they will do so, even at the expense of human lives.
I trust Democrats more to keep from abusing their power than Republicans at this point. I just hope they get that chance, as I don't think we can afford much more delay.

Perhaps your dream has to do with Trump potentially "auctioning off/selling" national security secrets that he now has access to before he leaves the WH? Once he leaves, that information becomes stale . Him becoming an "information broker" could go a long way towards paying down a chunk of his huge upcoming debts ... Naturally, this could place our democracy at grave risk... just like when he blurted out Israeli Intelligence information when the Russian Ambassador was visiting the WH. He has no normal sense of discretion, morality or patriotism so really, anything is possible...but his personal bank account always comes first...
@allyn I have thought about the Senate race in Georgia but I haven’t had the energy yet to meditate on it. It feels very complicated but I do have a good feeling about Schumer perhaps being the majority leader. (One can only wish, but sometimes wishing hard enough might change the outcome)
It’s raining here today in northern California and it feels like the rain is here to wash away all the ash and soot. Time for renewal and cleansing.
