Today’s News is very frightening. Nunes comes up with a memo to give reason to fire Rosenstein. Then trump fires Rosenstein

and hires a kiss butt who fires Mueller? Is that what’s happening???

it took all I had to wait until trump possibly has a stroke. Now this is way frightening. Anyone looking at this?

thanks,

Anita

Anita, this plan  has been in the works for days.  Rachel Maddow first reported on it this weekend.  They are going to fire Rosenstein and put someone above Mueller who is willing to muffle Mueller. It is amazing that they would find someone who would do that because they too would eventually be held responsible for obstructing justice. But it's clear that that is the plan.

I've been looking at this for the last two days and posted on it on the Prediction page comments a few days ago.  I can hear the GOP strategists working on this plan.

I am equally upset Anita. I started a post yesterday then deleted it. I didn’t know how to write about it and not get people upset . The gop is determined not to let mueller expose all the people he is going to expose, mostly trump.

I have written about it a lot.  I hear them plotting. Devin Nunes is their executioner. The only thing I’m not sure of is whether they will fire Mueller. But we are entering into a dark time.   It comes in waves. We will feel good again later. We will prevail.

Dear Jeanne and all...Don't forget about the cool, protective angel breaths... I do think my jitters that started last week relate to a certain timeline we have entered. But we can do this, right? Yes, we can.

This is exactly the period of sturm und drang (news churn) that I warned y'all was coming.

Breathe.

No matter what the rethuglicans do, they are winding the noose tighter about their necks.

Getting rid of them is a process, not a swift fall of the guillotine.  We have to be patient.

Best counter to all this is a) NEVER listen to Fox news, the state run propaganda channel.

b) Go do things in your own life to batten down the ship.  See to your debts, get ready to garden, take care of health issues, make plans with friends, clean your house.

c) get together with like minded others and plan out one single thing you can do to embody your values in the public sphere.  Maybe this is voter registration. Maybe it is volunteering at a senior center. Maybe it is serving in a soup line.  Doesn't matter. Just get out there and help someone.

If we all do that, we are doing the ground level work necessary to get through this time.

More another day...I got a long drive tomorrow, out of the loop.

I see it this way - I've seen 2018 & 2019 as a time when our Federal Government democracy goes dark.  I've seen this coming for three  years.  I also see we will come out of it and light will spread across the land. I also see that there are amazing light beings, like you all, who are here too and together we will live in the light.  These past few days have been hard because I felt this coming and I also feel that fear and pain of many people who have worked hard to keep the truth out - people in government, advocates, in the press, and just so many good people.   And I grieve over this. I do.  I feel this dark thug party, love your name for them R1 - the Rethuglicans - plotting such darkness. Then I see a despairing cry from Anita and I feel her pain and it ignites my own grief over this.

Thank you, R1 and dear Melissa.  I will be posting our light ball Valentines Day meeting.  Can't wait for it!  Can't Wait!  love you all.

Joanna Macy, one of my most revered teachers, does an exercise she calls the Truth Mandala.  We gather around in a circle and someone goes into the middle.   And that person shares their grief and their hope.  Meanwhile  everyone supports her by saying things like, "I'm with you, Anita."  I hear you, Jeanne. And when we are done, everyone applauds.  I did this with Joanna in 2015 at a weeklong workshop in Western Mass. I cried my head off when I was in the circle. I cried for my children and all the young people who will have to deal with climate change. I felt so damn good when I was done.   Joanna also cried when she was in the circle and I loved her for her honesty.  I accept my fear and grief. And I accept yours, Anita.  And I am wrapping my arms around all of you right now.  :-)

This little light of mine. I'm gonna let it shine.  This little light of mine.  I'm gonna let it shine.  This little light of mine. I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Even if the very worst comes to pass, and those in "power" continue to abuse it and the federal government as we know it crumbles, there are millions of us who know what honor, truth and decency are.  And we are the ones with power.

I hope to join you on February 14 for a light ceremony.  Let it shine!

Ah, what a group you are.  I think sometimes that you are a perfection.  We are not all in our perfection every moment, but as a group we are.

Just took a long walk with dog in woods.  A fresh layer of snow. Peace in the woods.  I asked the trees for their secret.  "We just stand here," they said. We endure what comes.  We tend to our own immediate needs, then we tend to others.  We find peace.  When we are distressed,  we adjust ourselves and realign.

Heard Wendell Barry.

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. -- The Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Barry.

Thank you so very much for responding to my crying heart for what appears to be happening to our country. I try to believe that

we will overcome this threat to our democracy, but when I see a complicit bunch of republicans in power, when I see actions

leading toward the firing of Mueller, it is so difficult for me to trust that we will come through this. I look at the relationship broken between myself and my only sister, who in her attempts to be a good Catholic, is supporting this evil man. I write letters that I never send, believing my words will fall on her defensive mind.

But, again, I appreciate you and your time in caring and doing all you can to lend encouragement that this devil’s plan will not bring down the United States. I think it was on the Grammys that I saw a segment showing the Statue of Liberty with the engraved words recited. I felt I’d burst into tears, thinking of our country that once was and wondering if it will remain...

I don't know if they will or will not bring down this country.  My own visions of the future show a much diminished world power when this is all done. But maybe being a world power has not been so good for us?  So many of the visions of the future show more peace in our hearts.  I do believe that truth is light and we are in that light. Light prevails.

What's the saying ... Afghanistan is where empires go to die?  Our nation's goose was cooked a decade ago, it's just hard to see it until it's far enough in the rearview mirror.

We haven't been the good guys for a long, long time. In many ways, the U.S. is a world threat. We destabilize other nations and then refuse to take their refugees. We act like we can do what we want in the world and yet feel like we're some beacon of hope. We're not really.  It's not a bad thing for us to be taken down a few pegs, although it pains me that the right wing is the agent of destruction.  Remember too folks that the U.S. isn't that old. Country-wise it's like a teenager, and behaving badly. There needs to me maturity, and being humbled might not be such a bad thing.

For whatever it's worth, my anxiety level lately has been close to zero. I think we'll be OK. It may not be easy, but it'll be OK.

Lynn, couldn't agree with you more.  Learning some humility by being reduced on the world stage may bring the US closer to our original values.  -R1-

A thought I've had for a while, and that was recently put into clear words by someone else (sorry I don't remember who, though):

America has been based on 3 Sins that have not ever been addressed:

1. Founded by genocide

2. Built on the backs of slaves

3. Maintained by the subjugation of women

I believe in the power of evil, and even that it may boomerang, but I've thought for a very long time that this nation carries a curse put upon it by the people(s) it has squashed for going on 4 centuries.

My anxiety comes and goes....  I know it's not a positive thing, but once in a while I visualize certain people's heads on pikes in front of the White House.  Even though I don't like violence, in this case I find it calming. I see the powerful Democrats as essentially hamstrung by fear, but what they don't get is that the weaker their responses to these affronts, the more likely they too will eventually be out of power.

Heard from Zoron and he remembered that he'd predicted before the New Year what is now happening. well I think we both predicted parts of it, filling in missing pieces.  And what he said that made me want to come and post it here was that there will be a tidal wave backlash to the Trump/Nunes/ GOP plan.

I looked tonight at a recent post, from pre new year, where I said, quite clearly, that Trump was planning a counter coup. what I did not say, although I mentioned Trump using his executive powers, was that he was forming his own cabal, to take legal and executive action, but  was not saying what you are seeing, and I sort of sensed, but not in detail.

I did get that he was building a plan for executive powers to be used to control events, and to trip up attempts to unseat him. But I did pick up a darker thread, as well. I did not really believe it though, at the time. Now it seems it is true.

But hang in there. There is a tidal force building. He will not have it all his own way.

We are getting really valuable stuff. It is clear that something very major happens to America, between 2020 and 2030.   -- Zoron

I would like to add that Trump has been learning from his mentor Putin all along. He wants to be Putin and Putin wants him to be Putin so he can make America his ally and enabler and build up Russia even more. The collusion is serious and still ongoing.

But this country is not Russia.  We have a robust, educated press corps and legions of lawyers and activists who will not allow the U.S. to become Russia.  The struggle is on, though. And it is a dangerous time for the U.S. democracy.  Time for activism! Time to be strong and show up when we need to.

Yes!  To all of the above.  We are a teenager in the throes of becoming what we are supposed to be.  We have forgotten that our nation was founded of the people, for the people, BY the people.  We have given our responsibility to those we call leaders and watch as they run amok.  We've been doing this for years.  The supreme court picked a President and allowed Super packs, which is how Trump and others got funded by Russia and other thugs so easily.  The Clinton's were no angels either.  Remember, Bill was impeached for raping an intern, he was just never forced to leave office.  And their money is as dirty as it comes.  I won't go into GW Bush and his stuff here, but war for war's sake is what that came down to and it left a legacy of broken protections for our government.  The executive power Trump and Obama by the way, abuse(d) is courtesy of GW and a Congress that didn't want the responsibility for war to affect their votes.

The people have been asleep at the wheel in all of this.  We have forgotten our power and our responsibility in our government.  I believe this-the dire threat that it can be taken away - will wake us up.

And if it does fall and is taken away we still have our power.  Our light is within us and only we can dampen it.  We dampen it by giving in to fear and despair.  We dampen it by turning away from things we know aren't right , but we don't know how to fix.  But it is still there in every soul on the planet.  Some are so dim they may never find it.  Others shine with the brightness of a thousand stars.  This power is yours and mine.  It cannot be taken away.  This is what our spiritual teachers throughout time and the world all tell us.  Learn to use it for good and let it shine.

Bill Clinton did Not rape anyone. The affair he had with the intern was by mutual consent.

Bill Clinton was Not impeached for raping an intern. He was impeached for lying under oath.

I know this is off topic but I've been hearing so much GOP fake news about the Clintons that it's showing up inadvertently in this forum and I want to set the record straight.  (But I hope Luminata will understand that I know she was writing about something else and is clearly much younger than me and didn't live through the Clinton era, and I love Luminata, your posts. But I have to clear this Clinton fake news stuff up. )

Bill Clinton never  raped an intern or anyone. Monica Lewinsky, the intern, has gone on record many times that she was in love with Bill Clinton. She has a famous TED talk about how she fell in love with her boss, the President. She bragged about it to a friend who went public with the information and, when he denied it, the GOP used it to impeach him. Clinton was a notorious flirt but there are no reliable sources that claimed he raped or assaulted anyone.

Also, the Clinton money is not dirty. But clearly that is what the fake news is wanting people to believe and it's working to a certain extent.

So what are the Clintons guilty of? The worst thing that Hillary Clinton did was to charge exorbitant fees for dinner speeches with the financial industry. She was trying to raise money to make a sure bet bit for president.  Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnel and every politician who has to raise substantial money does it by taking donations from rich donnors.  They ALL do this, except perhaps Bernie Sanders. So she was going to have some allegiance to the banking industry who donated to her campaign. I didn't like that.  But that would not have been corrupt. It's totally legal and open and above board.

If anyone wants to list Clinton's other transgressions here, that's fine. I'm sure I've missed some.  But they don't belong in the same category as Donald Trump and his team.

P.S. I've edited this down from a treatise on all the charges the GOP made against Hillary Clinton and how they were shown to be bogus. I didn't want go too nuts on this. But maybe we need a forum category for fake news - set it straight here kind of thing. And Luminata, if you stop posting because of my setting this record straight, I will be so sad. I love your posts!
