Are you surprised to learn that 16 million Americans think chocolate milk comes from brown cows?

Does this mean that skim milk doesn't really come from skinny cows either?? You have totally burst my bubble. ;-(

I clicked on the link which went to a Scientific American article entitled: Scientists stunned by Antarctic rainfall and a melt area bigger than Texas. It's very frightening indeed.

I'm so A.D.D. that by the time I got that post up I was already reading five other articles including the one about the West Antarctic ice shelf which ended up in the link.

Yes, the Antarctic meltdown is stunning and unfunny. I've been seeing it coming for months. -- Had a series of predictions of a climate change surge coming this year that would be as described in the headline - terrifying. Each new revelation about the poles is more dramatic than the last. 

I remember being alarmed in 2006 when a nationwide survey of high school students revealed that something like 80% were unaware of basic constitutional rights. I drafted an article for the local paper expressing concern that such ignorance could have devastating consequences if the wrong people came into power in government.
