Wise words in a letter to me from a psychotherapist friend who is retired:

I am also pretty "mind-boggled", as you described, but

otherwise dealing with the bad news/uncertainty with a

one day at a time attitude. I also remind myself that ultimately

I (as an individual)  do not have to rise and fall with what Trump

does, although my heart is heavy with the pain and trepidation

of others.

As Churchill once said, "When you are going through hell, just

keep going". What I would add to that is; "and, remember to bring a

flashlight"; and further, in your instance, to simply,"be the light"!

@pat-czap We have been thinking and talking about that, too.  We live in a deep red state as well but sort of in a purple area. We have a good life here. Our children are settled in blue states, but their cost of living is high. As retirees, we wouldn't be able to maintain the life we enjoy if we moved to their states. I think we are going to stay where we are and do our best to be good citizens and friendly neighbors to all.

Thanks for your input.  My life here is very comfortable as well.  The cost of living and my mortgage are great. In the end, I think finances play a big roll. You have to be able to afford to live. I'll get my flashlights ready, to shine the light. Kinda like Motel 6, where they used to say we'll keep the light on for you.😉

What I heard this morning was hopeful -- no rehashing of what happened or what should have happened.  It was uplifting and empowering.

If I can find it later today online, I will post it here.

These are the 3 broadcasts I'd mentioned earlier that I watched this morning on Ali Velshi:

A community member sent me this email that helped me think about how to move forward and I wanted us all to benefit from her wisdom:

"I just wanted to say hi and offer a few thoughts. I know we are all devastated with the recent outcome.

'We need to go forward, but progress isn’t always a straight line or a smooth path.' -Barak Obama

When I think about this quote and your napkin vision of a low point in 2020 and rising through 2028, this tells me many warriors, physical and non physical, will be working extra hard against the forces pull us down to ensure we rise over the next 4 years.

It won't be easy. In fact, it will be very difficult. It will be dangerous. It will be terrifying and soul draining at times. But we are not alone.

Please keep doing what you do. Call out injustice. Be a voice for those who are silenced. Send light to those who are enveloped in the raging darkness.

I know we are all weary. But let's take a moment to grieve. Then a moment to breathe. Then let's start on the upward climb to 2028.

Much love,"  J

P.S. She also sent me a YouTube of the man who has successfully predicted nearly every election going back many decades, Alan Lichtman.  I will post it in the Election Thread.

@pat-czap I hear you! I'm in PA til 2027 but if it goes red I will absolutely be moving to a blue state.  Honestly, I had a feeling years ago that it may come to this, but I'm not psychic. It was something Jeanne said and I can't quite recall but I thought at the time,  we're going to have to separate.  I just know things, and can't explain it. Anyway, I think it may come to that and while it would be a great hardship for me it's not off the table for me.

I just threw one card asking how Trump will do with the economy.  I'm very rusty so I started slow! LOL! I got the reversed Queen of Wands.   Here's what my understanding is

even if you have all the potential in the world it won't help if you don't use it correctly.  It is also possible that someone charismatic has been exerting a powerful effect on you but he/she is to be avoided as they are narcissistic and manipulative.

I did a past, present, future spread with outcome. I got:

Past- Justice-reap what you sow.

Present-Strength-you are stronger than you think

Future-Two of Pentacles-stay centered  and flexible

Outcome- disagreements and chaos.

I also asked if  TFG changes our country to an autocracy.

I got Princess of Wands and didn't really understand.  Anyone? So I drew again and got reversed the Fool.

I also asked out TFG change our country to an autocracy.

I got Princess of Wands and didn't really understand.  Anyone? So I drew again and got reversed the Fool.

I welcome more indepth analysis.

@impassionate  To give you more detailed feedback on how you read those cards, it helps to know what deck you are using. Regardless,  I felt there was something solid about what you got.

Mobilize.us can tell you where the next activist event is near you.   You have to make an account and then login so they can send you events happening in your region. You may or may not need to turn off any IP blocker if you want to reach them.  You will likely see events mostly in New England at first.  But when you get an account and login, they will show you events in your area.

@impassionate I am thinking the best thing for time being is to stay put, see how things shake out for a bit.  If needed I could move somewhat easily, I would hope,  but I hate the thought and process.  I've moved so many times already, but it does show I can reinvent myself at new locations, but at 68-not my first choice. It also ticks me off that tfg is causing people to react this way.  Perhaps staying put and shining our light, is sending a positive message.  We will not be intimidated!

@jeanne-mayell Oh ok. I was only able to find an old, old set that I've had for more than 25 years, I just looked and it came with a book when I was first teaching myself written by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber and the cards went specifically with that training book.  I'll have to get out my old divination box from storage.  I believe I still have the deck I purchased from your class somewhere.
