@lovendures the ICE scraper protests are hilarious!  We have been boycotting Home Despot for years, ever since it became clear that they are major contributors to the fascist Turnip regime

Tongight I watched an interview with Heather Cox Richardson and Marc Alias of Democracy Docket. He's arguing a VERY important to our democracy case before SCOTUS on Tuesday.

At the end he reminded us to KEEP calling our reps.

Even if you agree with them, keep calling and letting them know where you stand and what you want.

And please keep talking to people and reminding them to stay engaged. It is US, together, who will keep our democracy going.

Here's a link to the interview

Good news!

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (the federal agency which supports the nation's libraries)  has reinstated grants which were terminated under The Trump regime. This reinstatement occurred because a federal judge ordered the termination was unlawful.

Lawyers fighting all these horror able Executive mandates are my heroes.

And bless Marc Elias.  May he be guided my Spirit while in front of the Supreme Court and may light shine brightly. @kateinpdx

Hola Arepa is a Jame Beard award winning restaurant in the Twin Cities and now they are getting wonderful recognition for their actions against an ICE raid. The restaurant had an action plan in case ICE came and the management team implemented it when ICE arrived.  ICE demanded entry to their kitchen but they were refused because that is a  private area.  They demanded ICE show them a legal warrant signed by a judge to gain kitchen entry and filmed everything.  Even though ICE lied and said they could legally enter the private area, Hola Arepa management refused to back down and ICE left.

Hola Arepa then went public with a message letting other restaurants know their rights.

Action Plans work.  Know your rights!!  FILM FILM FILM.

This morning I was beautifully inspired by Jane Fonda.  She's been a powerful activist over the years, including climate/wildlife causes with her efforts having meaningful impacts across the globe.

She has been quite vocal during both of the T administrations and in October, she relaunched ia powerful resistance organization her father Henry Fonda founded in 1947 during the McCarthy blacklist era, Committee for the First Amendment.

From the Committee for the First Amendment website:

This Committee was initially created during the McCarthy Era, a dark time when the federal government repressed and persecuted American citizens for their political beliefs. They targeted elected officials, government employees, academics, and artists. They were blacklisted, harassed, silenced, and even imprisoned.

The McCarthy Era ended when Americans from across the political spectrum finally came together and stood up for the principles in the Constitution against the forces of repression.

The federal government is once again engaged in a coordinated campaign to silence critics in the government, the media, the judiciary, academia, and the entertainment industry.

We refuse to stand by and let that happen. Free speech and free expression are the inalienable rights of every American of all backgrounds and political beliefs – no matter how liberal or conservative you may be. The ability to criticize, question, protest, and even mock those in power is foundational to what America has always aspired to be.

I found their website inspiring.

Additionally, I've been reading articles and watching videos of Jane Fonda speaking about living the "final act" of your life (age 60 and above, the first act is birth to 30, the second 30 to 60).  About not living with regret as her father did at the end of his life, and what that means in her own life. Forgiving others, forgiving yourself,  living with intention,  prioritizing health, embracing self discovery building loving relationships and being deliberate abut how to spend your time.

I am grateful for Jane Fonda and her activism and her leadership.

@journeywithme2 The mother of a 6-year-old, and they are accusing her of having been a domestic terrorist. They will smear her and target her family, and they will delight in doing so. And it will get worse. I just don't know. There aren't words. How did we get here? How can we ever come back from this? I can't envision how we can recover.

@lynn There are more of us than there are of them. We think, speak, create a better world for all. See the world we want to create. Call it in to being.

"The rage you are feeling
comes from the same place
inside your heart as the love.
This is why you refuse to accept
a world where cruelty reigns
and the fire consumes all.
You have known hope
and joy and kindness
like you have known water.
And justice is a river
that demands
you do not give up on it"

There is some bystander video of the Minneapolis shooting that was posted on CNN . . .  Take a look if you already have not.  Anger is the word for the day.  I know these types of events unfortunately happen with the police, but different than ICE, there is accountability with the police forces.  I see none with ICE . . . they largely remain unidentifiable and unaccountable for their actions.

It would please me to no end to see the 'blue' states quickly organize and implement a 'soft secession' to force an end to this madness.

@anya the image in the link you posted was obscured by a Facebook warning that said the picture was an AI generated fake. It said that the ICE agent never removed his face mask (aka KKK hood) at any point during the episode.   But damn, it is pretty rich, to get a warning about fake news from the likes of FaKebook   lol.    @jeanne-mayell

regarding the murder of Renee Good, here is a Bible verse that seems appropriate:

"Greater love hath no man woman than this, that a man woman lay down his life take a fucking bullet in her face for his friends people in her community that she might not even know personally"

  -Jesus of Nazareth
