If anyone wants to give to the Maui disaster relief, my favorite charity is World Central Kitchen.  They are already there supplying food.  Just a thought. https://wck.org/

Two organizations raising money for Maui:

1. World Central Kitchen.  They are already there supplying food. https://wck.org/

2. Our website's wonderful developer Dave Harding (Angel Dave) is on the board of The Relief Foundation.  They helped in Haiti for the Haiti Earthquake, in Puerto Rico for Hurricane Maria.  He said they are raising money for Maui and have a local contact who knows the community. https://www.therelieffoundation.org/help-victims-of-the-hawaii-fires

@dannyboy Your desire to donate part of your liver to your wife’s cousin is clearly a spirit-led journey, a soul journey for you.  May all your tests go well this week and the donation process continue moving forward.  What you’re doing is an incredible sacrifice and gift of life for this man.  I know you feel deeply compelled to do this and I am praying for you.  May you be filled with peace and light.  Much love to you, Dannyboy.

The liver is the only human organ able to regrow... it will regenerate itself to full size in both donor and recipient in about 8 to 10 weeks. This is some of what dannyboy and his recipient are facing: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/transplant/programs/liver/living-donor-liver-transplant/what-to-expect

Dannyboy? As you know this is a momentous decision not without concerns and fears. To undertake this living donor step? Know that you are truly giving a selfless gift of life to your recipient. An amazing and incredibly loving act of service to your fellow man.

Know that I will keep you and he in my prayers and ask that God send AA Raphael to over see each step of the way and through and beyond the procedure to complete and full recovery. Asking that God bless and guide each hand that touches you both to be His/Her hands of Love/Life/Healing and that all hands that touch you all be hands of Love and Life and Healing.

I have very Faith that this will be a successful mission you are undertaking. Sending you much Light/Love and Big hugs!! Y'all got this!!!

Everyone - thank you so much.  This is such an interesting place to be right now.  I've teared up at the love and support you've sent so far every time I've come back to the forum.  From the bottom of my heart - thank you.  I'm tearing up now as I write this.

I'm in the mix because I know K.  I'm not certain my altruism would extend to a stranger.  I am scared about the recovery.  I'm not great with pain.  But I lost my own dad young, and I don't want K's daughters to lose him younger.

I'm now 6 pounds below the weight I told them i was when I applied...which is actually 20 pounds down from where I REALLY was :P. I don't LOOK the weight I am so I can argue a bit if they go strictly with BMI.  But the fact that they've ordered me down for tests, including an MRI which is one of the most expensive tests imaginable means they too believe it's a 50/50 shot if Im' healthy enough.  And with Keto I wouldnt' be surprised if I'm closer to 10 down by Thursday though Wednesday we're going to our favorite pizza place before the concert.  And on that note...

A new sign crept up yesterday.

After reading some of your messages yesterday, my daughters and I were in the car with my wife driving home from a late graduation open house.  The concert my daughters and I are going to Wednesday night - that put me in the vicinity of the hospital for the next two days is P!nk, who I got the twins into during the pandemic and whose music really resonated with them.  I promised we'd go see her when she tours again, and here we are.

On the way home the song "When I Get There" came on - a song she wrote last year as a tribute to her father who had died.  It brought all the feelings and emotions back to me from having lost my own dad.  My girls even said they'd looked up her setlist and the song is in it.  If you haven't heard it, hear it while watching the music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3moAYqBZ-lI . You will have happy tears in your eyes as you watch it.

Losing a parent - especially young - you never truly recover from it.  This song coming to me, echoing once more Wednesday evening at the concert - I don't want his kids to lose him.

You guys...the feels.  Light and love.  But most importantly - my thanks.  ❤️

@cindy apologies ..somehow missed seeing this one. What a heartbreaking experience for Hollis...and..thus you. For our mother's hearts ache for our children when they are hurting. The unresolved and estranged parent on top of this difficulty and red tape compound the pain . Sending prayers for comfort and healing and finding the answers needed for moving forward. Much Love and Light.

@journeywithme2 thank you. It's been a long few days. It will be over a week before Hollis can even get to CA to do anything. It will be a process. The day we got the news, I finished my errands for the day & knew I needed chocolate & wine for that evening. As I got out of the car to walk towards the store, there was an angel in the clouds. An absolute sign from my ex. When I sent the photo to Hollis,  their first reaction was, is he saying he's going to hell quickly? LOL I get  why they'd think that. I could console them, noting the ex did most  things backwards, so it was proof it was him. There was also a large white feather on the ground by the driver's door (which wasn't there  when I parked) when I returned to the car. My ex wasn't a believer about the afterlife & signs. It took all I had not so utter "I told you so," all the way home. :)

Entering 5th week of Shingles.  Didn't even know I'd had chicken pox.  Wouldn't wish this on anyone. Will get vaccine when rash finally subsides.

The initial Rash is finally starting to subside... but then inexplicably last night a rash appeared on my face... sigh.  It is now getting very difficult to concentrate on anything... combined with my arthritis also playing merry havoc (I was diagnosed in my 20s as having advanced osteoarthritis... that's many, many decades ago) I'm a bit of a misery right now.  Although many others on this site are facing much worse, I humbly ask for healing prayers for these challenges... and that my latest skin biopsy is negative for cancer.  I should hear next week.

@freya

Shingles can be extremely painful.   I can deal with a lot but constant pain is a tough one indeed.  I just sent some healing energy and prayers to calm your nerve endings and provide you some relief. I hope you find relief soon. Hang in there and I am glad you asked for some support.

@freya Yes, prayers and soothing of nerve endings to you! My husband just recovered from a small bout of shingles (which was very painful, even if small in area!) I wonder if you had a chance to get the antivirals? Regardless, I do hope it clears up for you soon and that your latest skin biopsy is negative. All the best healing to you!

@cc21 thank you. Anti virals were not proscribed… even the salve was over the counter which surprised the pharmacist. Perhaps that’s why it taking so long to heal.

@freya Ooof. I am sorry they were not able to get those for you. It is encouraging that the original rash is starting to clear up. I hope that the rash on your face subsides as well. Will continue sending healing energy your way!

Another thanks - I haven’t slept well the last few nights - excitement for the concert tonight and nervousness about the test results tomorrow.  I woke up this morning with my heart pounding and I was having a hard time getting it to calm down.  This happens often when I only get a few hours of sleep.  (And let’s face it - tonight will be worse…wired from a concert and nervous about tests!)

I’ve been feeling the light and energy you’ve sent me and I felt it again this morning.  My nerves are down to general “three and a half hour drive to big city I didn’t grow up in” which is far easier to deal with.

Chatting with K about things via text.  We’re both optimistic.  Thank you all.  Light and love!  I’ll let you know tomorrow when I know something!  Tests are 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Consult with doctors is 1 p.m. (All EST)
