Prayers for the people of Hawaii and visiting Hawaii.

Major fires from wind cause by Hurricane Dora around 500 miles away have erupted across Maui and the Big Island. up to 80 miles an hour wind.  Downtown Lahaina was engulfed in flames, people escaped by jumping into the ocean.  The area near Kihei is on fire as well.  Resorts on Kaanapali  have no power and are in blackout but are housing residents on cots in their ballrooms.  People exploring the island before the fires broke out have had no way to get back to their hotels in Kaanapali which is just north of Lahaina.  Some have taken flights to Oahu evacuating tonight, leaving behind luggage in their rooms.

The Maui ancient banyon tree may have survived the fires. It's scorched but not burnt to the ground. There was so much concern worldwide for that tree. Every Circle of Light, we send prayers to the planet's trees, so maybe

Any good thoughts, light or prayers you can send to my son Hollis (aka Brian) would be appreciated. He called me in a panic this morning, haven gotten word his dad passed (my ex). As if it's not enough to lose a parent, (it's a long story) but Hollis is not currently being recognized by the powers that be in California as his father's next of kin, so he can't find out any information-including when his dad passed or what has been done with his father since passing. Hollis will be trying to sort through this mess from Rhode Island.

@cindy

Oh Cindy, this is so sad and upsetting!  I will keep you both in prayer.  I am sure you are dealing with your own feelings over the passing of your ex and the upset for your son.

@cindy I got a brief vision of someone signing a document. I could see the arm and hand holding the pen, and the skin was exposed, revealing the veins beneath. It felt like this was your son.

I interpret this as your son signing something that affirms his blood relation to his father, allowing him to make any arrangements needed going forward.

Sending prayers to all of you for a peaceful and healing resolution.

@cindy I lost my father at a very tough time to lose someone - not that there's ever an easy time.  I am wrapping you both in light, love and comfort.  Even though he's an ex, he shared a part of your life.  There is always a path through the red tape of government and I pray that path opens before your son soon.

Thank you all who have sent healing & prayers. It is appreciated. Loss is difficult for anyone at any time, but for those with negative/complicated relationships, times of loss can be a real rollercoaster ride. I was up till nearly 2 this morning on the phone with my youngest, listening and consoling. Back up by 6-I'm bushed.

The ex (Rob) was admitted to the hospital 3 weeks ago. Rob was in touch with Hollis from the hospital, but after several days, Rob's phone stopped working (we don't know why), so contact ceased. Finally, the hospital told Hollis that Rob had been discharged to a nursing facility after his week-long stay, but the social workers couldn't track down his placement. For 2 weeks Hollis has been working the bureaucracy to get information. Finally, yesterday he had been given a nursing home name, and the nursing home transferred him back to the hospital records department. A clerk there answering the call noted that Rob had not listed any next of kin, and they couldn't verify relationships of expired patients over the phone. Imagine finding out your parent has passed in such a cold, heartless manner. They refused to give Hollis any further information.

Today, in relaying news of his father's death to Rob's friends in CA, one friend noted that Rob usually listed him as an emergency contact since he was local. Mike (friend) called the hospital, and being listed as a contact, he was told Rob passed a week ago at the hospital, on the 4th. We have no clue why he passed, when he returned to the hospital, nada. The hospital called no one upon the passing of a patient. They refused to give a child information on his father's passing or whereabouts when they've had him in the morgue for a week.  My son is furious. Friends in CA are working on arrangements to get Hollis out there, I got him a copy of his birth certificate to prove his relationship, but this will take time. There's a paperwork and emotional quagmire facing Hollis, so bless you all for the love, light, healing and prayers you've sent.

To my friends here in this beautiful forum of light and love, today I come to you with a request.

My wife's cousin has a hardening of his liver that has been ricocheting around his other internal organs making him sicker and sicker.  He's on the transplant list but the problem with that is by the time he's at the top, he's not likely to survive because of how much is wrong with him.  His best hope is a living donor.  His entire family is either not a match or ineligible.

Dannyboy is Type O-Negative blood type which makes him a match.  I've gone through all the steps to confirm this, and I have two final tests this Thursday at the transplant center.  If all goes well the doctor will tell me my liver is healthy enough to donate and later this fall I'll go under, they'll take up to half of mine, and ideally cure him.

A friend asked me how I could be considering doing this and my sarcastic response was "I woke up one morning and asked myself 'What's something I haven't done on this planet yet?' and this was the thing I came up with."  The real story is this cousin is a very kind, decent soul.  His eldest daughter just graduated high school.  His youngest daughter is near my twins age and they love hanging out and playing together.  This cousin was almost like another brother to my wife and her family.  He doesn't deserve what's happening to him - no one deserves what's happening to him.  And this won't get him to 90 - but it might get him down the aisle with both his daughters.

I've been a bigger guy most of my life but 4 years ago I started the Keto diet which transformed me for the better.  While I went off during some very tough periods of time over the last few years and did gain some of the weight back, some isn't all - and I'm far more athletic than I was before starting.  I bike to work frequently.  I do workouts nearly every weekday.  And this summer, before I even knew I was going to be asked to get tested this soon, I started Couch to 5K, which has accelerated weight loss again (I'm down 30 pounds since I walked out of my school on the last day). The diet has also been shown to clear up fatty liver disease in some people which is what we'll be really looking to make sure I don't have on Thursday.

I look for signs from the universe, and these are the most recognizable.

1). When he told us he said "we're going to try X, Y, and Z and it won't get to liver transplant." but I felt certain then and there, four years ago that he was going to need a liver transplant and it was going to be mine.

2).  The appointment slot we have is in the summer - the only one aviallbe.  When I told the transplant nurse I may need all my sick days during the school year to recover, she told me the only days they had available were this coming Thursday and Friday.  My friends - I'm already 10 minutes away from the transplant center this Wednesday into Thursday because I'm taking my daughters to a concert.

3). The pastor who married us at our church moved away to Vegas long ago to retire with his new wife.  He was my confidant when we were experincing infertility issues.  He was there when I picked my daughters up from practice the other day and while I didn't tell him, I gave him a huge hug like I did back in those days.  It felt like a sign.

4).  Yesterday while sitting and thinking on all of this a very dear friend texted me telling me her corneal transplant was successful.  I'd forgotten she was doing that entirely and I feel like it was a sign of encouragement.

My ask:  This Thursday I have the final two important tests - a CT Scan to make sure my kidneys are functional and an MRI to get a sense of what's going on with all of my midsection.  After that it's a pysch eval and a few more tests but the big ones are Thursday.

If anyone is willing to send healthy light - both that K is able to keep holding on, and that my liver and body pass all the tests this Thursday I would be so grateful.

I want to do this for him so badly, and I've worked hard both before knowing and after that I might be called to do this this fall.  If you're willing to help me get across the finish line here with positive energy, I'd appreciate it.

@dannyboy All good energy and light for smooth testing this week! What a gift you are giving. I completely agree with you that all of the things you listed were signs (I have had similar experiences myself, where things fall into place and later are needed...) Here's one more sign for your list -- my brother-in-law received his kidney transplant exactly one year ago today.

May your body align to his needs and may you both ride this wave of healing all the way through. Also sending light to K that he holds steady while awaiting the details on your donation. We will all be holding you both up spiritually and energetically!

@dannyboy, what a wonderful thing to do for another! As I read your post, and I got to the line where you noted "both that K is able to keep holding on," I heard the word success. I don't know if they meant you will be a match and the surgery will be successful, if it meant that K will be able to hold on until a donor is found, but if the above are not the meaning of what I heard, it will still mean that you are a great success as a human. Will send love, light and healing in my prayers.
