From Unk-p:  Just wanted to let you know that i am back home, and we have power!  We stayed w friends last nite, and then the power went off over there as well, but it was still much warmer than it had been here, the nite before.  The water is not really working, but we have enough to drink.  The cats are fine, just like you said.  I am exhausted in so many ways.  There is ANOTHER winter storm coming in tonight.  Not as cold as the last one, but expected to bring freezing rain, and more power outages.  I will go to the Forum tomorrow, if i can, and thank everyone for the love they have shared.    
 
Me: I think you know by now how loved you are. We sent you another big blast of angel energy last night.
 
Unk-p: I do feel the love! And now the power just went out again.   But it's ok.

@lovendures, so glad your daughter is okay, and safe. Focusing on seeing legions of angels flying over the frozen homes and swooping in and helping people who need heat and water and food. Blankets, rescuers.  The angels within the people helping people.

So praying for those affected by these storms from coast to coast that all may be warm,safe,dry and fed ??????? Asking for prayers for my son, his wife and myself as we are "weathering" an emotional storm ..... that Peace and Understanding and honoring boundaries and finding the Love and Joy and releasing old dysfunctional patterns are successful as we work our way to mental and physical and emotional health once more. Thank you in advance for any and all Prayers Light Love and Healing Energies sent our way.

My heart is with everyone in Texas. I'm sending as much loving, warming energy as possible. I plan on attending tonight's meditation and hope we can all form a warm, healing light to the entire state and to warm the hearts and minds of Texas government. They need us all now and I hope and pray for them. ??☀☀??☀

Part One

Well, the weather continues, so I will continue the updates as well.

I can’t believe I am still talking about this crisis 7 days later.  For those who have been following the crisis in Texas let me give you an update.  
 
My daughter lives just north of Austin and has been very fortunate, She has power, water and cell phone service. Most people she knows are missing all or some of those services. She lives near 2 small hospitals, one of which is a surgical hospital and this might be why her electrical grid has been spared so far, as they are trying to keep hospitals powered. She is conserving energy as much as possible to do her part to help. She knows she is very blessed at the moment. I mean really truly feels how blessed she is and is not taking anything for granted.
 
She is currently also sheltering her boyfriend  and his roommate in her apartment as they have not had water or power since Monday morning.  It was a very dangerous jury to even get to her apartment Monday.  Roads have been too dangerous to travel most days, except for a brief time on Saturday and some of today,  Many people are not only desperate for heat and water, they are in need of food and baby formula. Food lines for the few grocery stores which can open because they have water and power were blocks long in the bitter cold yesterday. Many could not drive on the dangerous roads and walked over a mile in the snow to get there for a chance to buy food. Most shelves were bare in a short time after the stores opened yesterday. God bless the grocery front line workers once again. True heroes doing what they can do to help.  The photos on twitter were just heartbreaking.
 
My daughter has had plenty of food as she stocked up a week ago anticipating a storm. She has been in good shape. Of course at that time, it was for a few days worth of food, not for over a week for 3 people. But they have enough right now, it has been hot food and they have been creative with recopies.  She has been saving water also just in case, filtering some to drink and storing some in the bathtub incase it is shut off. Many are now losing water or need to boil it for safety as the water plants have no power to produce clean water. She has also been busy preparing food which will keep in case the power goes out.  She has also tried her best to conserve as much as possible. The motto there for those with power is "live like you don't have power".

Part Two

The roads were passable today and a new ice storm is expected shortly so the boys were able to drive back to their house today to bring back what food and supplies they could gather to extend the supplies they have in the apartment. Nobody wanted to try the grocery stores and there was no need for them to do so.   The temp inside their house was in the 40's when they arrived but at least the pipes had not burst. Still no water or power.  Food in the freezer was still mostly frozen.  When they came back to her apartment it must have felt like Christmas. Frozen meat and veggies, canned salmon, canned beans, veggies, and apples They will be in good shape for many days which will be great because I anticipate a huge run on food over the weekend also.
 
Most people in her city  (and quite frankly most of Texas) are in survival mode. Add to the crisis the fact that there is still a pandemic and you do actually need to be Covid cautious.
Some people have taken to their cars to run the engine just to get warm and charge phones. Of course, getting gas is also a big challenge.  Those open with power have been running out.  Supplies can't get in for much of anything. 
 
There will be a huge new layer of trauma added to that which already exists for the students she teaches. Some families near her school have been without power since Thursday, the day of all the car pile ups and the first day of freezing rain. That is a week. Nobody knows when school will resume, the district has had  power issues and you can't teach remote if nobody has power anyway.  Also, it will take time to make sure the school can safely operate when unperson does begin again.
 
More ice and freezing rain is expected overnight.

I hope your daughter continues to manage well.  Wise of her to be prepared! 

I live in a hurricane-prone area---- and we always live like we might not have power.  We've always got non-perishable food, bottled water, camp stoves and propane, batteries, flashlights, firelogs,  and even a generator which we've never used.  The worst I've been through was the heat in August during a prolonged power outage after a hurricane (before we had the generator) which required sleeping on the screen porch with a fussy 2 year old. But---that's why the South invented "sleeping porches".   

The planning requires one to get back to basics and imagine what you would do if it were 1880, not the 21st century.  There is something to be said for a survivalist mentality.  (I've tried to get the husband to have a shallow well drilled that we can hand-pump, but he's not into it. )

Dear Community, I am happy to report this update from @coyote:

Healthwise, I'm fine. I had a follow-up appointment today with the surgical team, and that was uneventful. Since my balance is improving, I was basically given the all-clear to keep on increasing my activity.
 
Though I feel somewhat stagnant. There's a lot I want to do, intellectually and physically, that I haven't been doing simply because I haven't summoned the energy yet. That being said, I feel calm when I think about what's coming in the next few weeks and months, like I'm being reassured by Spirit.
