@lovendures, so glad your daughter is okay, and safe. Focusing on seeing legions of angels flying over the frozen homes and swooping in and helping people who need heat and water and food. Blankets, rescuers. The angels within the people helping people.
So praying for those affected by these storms from coast to coast that all may be warm, safe, dry and fed ??????? Asking for prayers for my son, his wife and myself as we are "weathering" an emotional storm ..... that Peace and Understanding and honoring boundaries and finding the Love and Joy and releasing old dysfunctional patterns are successful as we work our way to mental and physical and emotional health once more. Thank you in advance for any and all Prayers Light Love and Healing Energies sent our way.
May you all find a way to work through the emotional challenges you are facing together. May the peace and joy you yearn for fill all of you. I am sending you waves of love.
My heart is with everyone in Texas. I'm sending as much loving, warming energy as possible. I plan on attending tonight's meditation and hope we can all form a warm, healing light to the entire state and to warm the hearts and minds of Texas government. They need us all now and I hope and pray for them. ??☀☀??☀
Part One
Well, the weather continues, so I will continue the updates as well.
Part Two
The motto there for those with power is "live like you don't have power".
I hope your daughter continues to manage well. Wise of her to be prepared!
I live in a hurricane-prone area---- and we always live like we might not have power. We've always got non-perishable food, bottled water, camp stoves and propane, batteries, flashlights, firelogs, and even a generator which we've never used. The worst I've been through was the heat in August during a prolonged power outage after a hurricane (before we had the generator) which required sleeping on the screen porch with a fussy 2 year old. But---that's why the South invented "sleeping porches".
The planning requires one to get back to basics and imagine what you would do if it were 1880, not the 21st century. There is something to be said for a survivalist mentality. (I've tried to get the husband to have a shallow well drilled that we can hand-pump, but he's not into it. )
Dear Community, I am happy to report this update from @coyote:
While I considered making a new category for the issues in Texas, the prayer needs are great and expanding so I thought I should keep some updates here for now at least.
2 Austin area hospitals have no water. One of them is also losing heat. This is dire and because other area hospitals are also having some water pressure issues so transferring people is not an easy task. Hospital staff can't use restrooms, portal potties will need to be bright in and all non emergency surgeries are canceled. Patients who can be discharged are being discharged. My mind is going to all of the critical covid patients...
Pipes that are bursting are part of the problem because water is gushing in homes and businesses and crews can't get all the problems. Water presser is very low. Even fire sprinkler systems in apartments are bursting with the water pouriing down it is VERY difficult to shut off.
There is going to be a MAJOR housing crisis after this nightmare. Many places will be uninhabitable.
Judge ruled both parents unfit this morning. Tomorrow is disposition/best interests phase. Im testifying at some point tomorrow and then judge will rule what is in their best interests. Looks very promising but still tough when your kids' fate is in someone else's hands. After that, if it goes our way, its a couple months to a year of appeals and then adoption.
I'd just like to say that witness sequestration sucks.....and its worse on zoom because you can't stop paying attention to the screen so you aren't MIA when you are brought back in.
