I've been a long-time lurker here. This forum has given me solace and peace since 2016 and still does to this day. In light of this year's election results, this particular song from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06OYeGnX5C4 has struck a chord in my heart and soul. This song plays continuously in my mind; like a reminder that despite dark times, there is hope and that I must push on through and be the light in this world...

When Bad Does Good- Chris Cornell

Standing beside an open graveYou're fate decided, your life erasedYour final hour has come todayLit by the fire of your temples burning
You were a child and so was INow you're a hunter but I am a lionAnd I will cut you down like I've done so many timesBut sometimes bad can do some goodSometimes bad can do some goodSometimes bad can do some good
And I heard you say that flesh sells by the poundWhen blood is raining down it cuts a deep riverAnd I'm diving

Now shine a light down onto the earthAnd shake this gold dust out, out of the dirtNo saints beside me and no prayers to guide meSometimes bad can do some goodBad can do some goodSometimes bad can do some good

I've chosen a side (Rain down, heaven is falling)And I will show no pity (Rain down, heaven is falling)And spare no lives (Rain down, heaven is falling)For those who try me (Rain down, heaven is falling)Let it be understood (Rain down, heaven is falling)Sometimes bad can do some good (Rain down, heaven is falling)Sometimes bad can do some good (Rain down, heaven is falling)Sometimes bad can do some good (Rain down)

May be an image of text that says 'Things that exist, but you can't see: ·All the compliments that people have thought of you but never shared. •Your tiny cells fighting together to keep you alive. How proud little you would be of the person you've become. •You showing up in others' dreams. ·Your endless potential and power to create whatever your heart desires. •People thinking of you and smiling. How much you've already healed. -@latenightepiphanies_'

Not a song but a poem:

Thanksgiving Prayer

I am Music in human form
My guitar and I are safe and warm
My body rises with my song

I am Art for all the ages
all the stages and mazes of my heart
Of the Art I am a part

I am Love entwined in laughter
and after, I am Love in a bottle
Lightening in a blaze.

I am Life in my essence
I have colors in my presence
I am joy undeniable
and grace it is reliable

All is me. I am all.
I am every thought I have ever seen
Every dream I have ever dreamed
Every light that's ever beamed.

You're the Voice
Song by John Farnham

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbkOZTSvrHs

Lyrics:

We have the chance to turn the pages overWe can write what we want to writeWe gotta make ends meet, before we get much olderWe're all someone's daughterWe're all someone's sonHow long can we look at each otherDown the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand itMake a noise and make it clearOh, whoaWe're not gonna sit in silenceWe're not gonna live with fearOh, whoa
This time, we know we all can stand togetherWith the power to be powerfulBelieving we can make it betterOoh, we're all someone's daughterWe're all someone's sonHow long can we look at each otherDown the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand itMake a noise and make it clearOh, whoaWe're not gonna sit in silenceWe're not gonna live with fearOh, whoa
Ooh, we're all someone's daughterWe're all someone's sonHow long can we look at each otherDown the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand itMake the noise and make it clearOh, whoaWe're not gonna sit in silenceWe're not gonna live with fearOh, whoa
You're the voice, try and understand itMake a noise and make it clearOh, whoaWe're not gonna sit in silenceWe're not gonna live with fearOh, whoa
You're the voice, try and understand itMake a noise and make it clearOh, whoaWe're not gonna sit in silence (we're not gonna sit in silence)We're not gonna live with fear (we're not gonna live with fear)Oh, whoa
You're the voice, try and understand itMake a noise and make it clearOh, whoaWe're not gonna sit in silenceWe're not gonna live with fearOh, whoa

@luminous John Farnham The Voice is Australia’s unofficial national anthem. He has such a great voice it’s a shame he has ended up with cancer of the jaw. Silly bugger used to smoke, he was great in to see in concert.

A tree died in our yard today.
It was leaning, it was leaning
And had blossoms
Bright red blossoms
Always trying for Life

It made me sad
To see those blossoms
Those bright red blossoms
Motherless now
Had been leaning, just leaning
New and already facing their last
Day

And remembering to be like a tree
Always leaning
Always leaning out for Life.

Easter Time
I moved into a new, new place
A safer place
And after a night of fitful sleep
I went walking
The sun, and everywhere flowers
Many kinds, different colors
I saw a bee among the leaves
and bent to take a closer look
Then heard the bells
The long Church bells
Were ringing, ringing, ringing, ringing
Got lost a while
But finally found my way back to
My brand-new home.
The people there who took me in
Sat drinking tea
Beside a golden gilded cage
With little birds
Who chirped and cheeped
I asked them why they thought the bells
Had gone and chimed and chimed so long?
They smiled and laughed and said,
"Because it's Easter Time"
Now every Easter I recall the sight
Of flowers
And the bee
But mostly I reflect upon
The Church bells that had
Set me free
