"If it's not one thing it's another. It's always something!" -- Roseanne Rosannadanna
Well, I need some very specific healing. I decided to head out for a short bike ride today, with hubby. Put on my helmet, and headed out back to unlock my bike. Tripped on the bottom most step of my deck, and as per "usual" my right ankle went catty-wumpus and I landed on the ground, next to my bike, in excruciating pain. Called ahead to our urgent care, went in and got x-rays. No fracture, but it is sprained. I have sprained this ankle so many times in my life I have literally lost count, but I think it's more than 10 at this point. Long story short, my right foot bones have deformities (some congenital, some acquired over time), so my foot is not well aligned to my ankle/leg, and my weight is not distributed on it properly. I have repeatedly broken metatarsals, bad bunion, multiple sprains... it's a whole thing, and I should have had surgery years ago, and in fact was looking into it when the pandemic and other factors made me put it off til next year at the earliest. I have had to give up my beloved flamenco for now, possibly for good (and this was before today's sprain).
So reiki and vibes to Laura's Right Foot, Please, Thank You and Namasté !!
My heart and light are surrounding you now Rowsella! How awful to have the door of the elevator close on you like that. I'm envisioning the light surrounding you and also the sitaution.

OMG you made me laugh and also feel for you with your right foot! (I used to imitate Rosanne Rosanadanna to my cousins in Germany and they got such a kick out of it - they still remind me about it lol) Seriously, I am sending light to you as well.
? ?
Laura, I hope your foot heals soon. Like they say, elevation and ice will help with inflammation but eventually you will need some PT to restore some strength to those muscles.
My news after much anxiety (I actually wrote an anxiety filled post before going to my hospital's employee health office). My pain basically goes down to a 3 which I can tolerate and that is what it was when I was when I was there. Ultimately they told me my manager cannot use me with the activity restriction I have and I am officially on Workers Comp. I just missed a call from the WC manager/counselor? Hopefully she will call me back soon and I will be cleared for the MRI. I just want the mysteries of my shoulder problem revealed and to have it treated and restored.
My gosh your shoulder - that's so tough... keeping YOU in MY thoughts!
I declined a scrip for PT because I have done this exact injury so many times, I know all of the exercises by heart (and in fact do maintenance exercises every day anyway), I even have all the flexi-bands and a foam pad and a roller in my house! What usually ends up happening is that at a certain point in the healing process I have to get a myofascial release of that ankle done, which I'll have to look into since I don't know what's opening up around here due to COVID.
I am doing R-I-C-E, decided to use cannabis instead of motrin, which is working well and I think will promote faster healing.
@rowsella and @laura-f, I'm very sorry you both are in pain and are dealing with these injuries. I'm sending healing light your way and prayers for a quick recovery.
@laura-f, I love myofascial release. I was in a number of car accidents in my 30's, and my body is paying for it now. MR really helps my cervical dysfunction.
@saibh, I'm sending continued healing light to your dad, and prayers that he can come home soon.
I will include all of you in Wednesday night's Circle of Light meditation. ?
@ Laura-F. Yay! Sending good vibrations to you. Hope all will ease soon!
@Saibh lots of light and hope for you. Wishing you and your family strength in this difficult time.
@Rowsella. Gosh it is frustrating if you do not know what/how. My mother had pain for years and years, before doctors finally figured it out. Wishing you/your doctors enlightenment soon and a way to treat it. Pain has such an effect on our well-being. Good vibrations and strength to you.
Hugs to all! Good tidings *will* come.

Thank you for the continued thoughts for my dad. He is finally home, and as the story comes out here and there, it is truly amazing he is alive. He is quite beaten up and will be healing for a long time, I'm afraid. And @coyote - I told my mom the same thing you said, that maybe this will be his wake-up call to treat his body more kindly and listen to it. He has always been prone to odd accidents that leave him injured (my mom commented that his guardian angels must be exhausted by this point), but also things like gout that slow him down. I hope it took the sky figuratively and literally falling on him to rattle his cage. We learned of another odd miracle: when the EMTs arrived, one of them had worked last summer at a side job in construction, and helped a guy build my parents' back porch. When he saw my dad injured, he told his fellow EMTs that he knows this guy, told him how important his father was (long story about my grandpa, but he is a very meaningful person in the area where my parents live and the nation at large, though very few people outside of their town know his contribution), and to treat him with extra care. Dad is still struggling with breathing, but four broken ribs will do that. I talked to my chiropractor today about his rehab, and the Dr recommended CBD oil to calm him and help him rest. Being an old hippie, I think my dad would be on board with that.
@michele-b Single L Michele ?
Thank you for the continued thoughts for my dad. He is finally home, and as the story comes out here and there, it is truly amazing he is alive. He is quite beaten up and will be healing for a long time, I'm afraid...
Right on he is one tough fellow!
Continued thoughts and blessings for him (Joel?) every day. Everything is a bit slower and take longer as we age but the courage and the wisdom and the love and the understandings and care for others only increase in strength and power.
So we are still blessed to be and to have and to do. And he has passed on those gifts to you ? Blessings to all of you.?
@saibh So thrilled your dad is home! What a wonderful blessing.
I asked previously for healing for my friend Taryn. To recap, she has acute myelogenous leukemia and has to have continual transfusions because they can't raise her platelets and put her in remission for a bone marrow transplant. At one point recently, she left the hospital and moved into an Air BNB so she could be with her kids, but she was close to the hospital. I took this to mean she was better, since why would you release an immunocompromised person, given COVID and her own disease?
Well I heard yesterday she is back in the hospital.
It's hard to get information - as I said, she had a very famous father and a famous sister so people know her. Her kids find it overwhelming to respond to people so it's tough. They are trying to stay positive.
I ask this powerful and sincere group to continue to put her in your thoughts. She is a wonderful and spiritual person. Thanks.
@suspira44 I will add Taryn to my prayer list and request healing and recovery for her and peace and calm for her family. ❤️
Right now Arizona has 3 big wildfires burning. One near the Grand Canyon, one not far from Tucson and the other in the mountains in the eastern/central part of the state. The biggest is currently the largest in the nation and is the 5th largest ever in the state at over 150,000 acres burnt. It is only 7% contained and thousands have been evacuated. Smoke can be seen across the Phoenix area which is not near any of the current fires. Prayers would be welcome for the fire to calm down, for firefighters to state safe and for humidity levels to rise. Rain would be great! (lightning not so much).
My heart goes out to you in all ways constantly and continuously for your dear friend and her family.
I have strong energetic and deeply personal connections to this story and my hearts pains deeply for those battling cancers that defy or are resistant to treatments when their very lives depend on all attempts to try anything and everything no matter the challenges in order to have a chance at survival and opportunities to be with those they love as long as possible.
Cancer in all forms is a ruthless enemy and now with COVID-19 the extra help, research or care that patients might desperately need are often sent home to stay out of germ rich hospital settings which are truly far less safe for the immunodeficienct and compromised patients battling cancer back to their their own homes-- truthfully for their own safety. Without strong immune systems the tinest germ or viral agent might do far more damage than the lack of supervised care within their home.
I have often been told no healthy person would even want to visit a hospital if they knew the bacterial count on the floors alone. This said as i set a my bag down on the floor visiting a friend. I washed that bag as soon as i got home after the doctors detailed story/explanation!
Even new mothers with life endangering emergency births are being rushed out of their emergency c-section post birth rooms ( the very next day after even almost dying during surgery!!) to make room for birthing mothers with COVID-19 and their babies often needing to be sent immediately home with extended families to keep their babies safe and their own surgucal site safe from infection. All the things they don't really want to admit or us to know.
It is a terrible time to be facing serious, advanced, or acute illnesses of all kinds with everything else happening.
Even once extremely important research into the most challenging cancers with new improved treatments just over the horizon have often been put on the research petri dish back burners because of Covid research, testing and manufacturing of drugs and potential vaccines.
As soon as i sign off here. I shall light a candle and reaching into the depths of my being pray for your dear friend Taryn and continue to add her to my thoughts and prayers as if she were my own.
Please know i hold her and her children in my heart with extra love and care. It is all....every single bit of it ....all incredibly sad and oh so painful for all of you, now.
I am so sorry this is happening. Love love love love and prayers abound.
? Michele
You so kind, thank you, Michele. She was diagnosed in early 2019, I think, and she was able to travel to her father's annual memorial service in LA. She was very thin but otherwise fine and upbeat. It's so awful to hear of her being this way now. I know she and the family appreciate your prayers very much. Thank you to everyone who is pulling for her healing.
Unfortunately her father's side of the family has the genes of impossibly spectacular good looks and not much in the way of good health. Taryn is already a breast cancer survivor, and her half brother had leukemia 20 years ago but recovered. Her dad died at 44 from heart disease.
I thought I would put a reply to your post here instead of the economy thread. A good job and a nice circle of friends and co-workers can be found again. Don't give up! Things will change for the better, you just have to get through the detour first. In the meantime, sign up and come to the Wednesday mediation we hold weekly if you can. You might get more from it than you think. Sending you a big hug.
Wow! That helped anchor my connection so much more than you might imagine. Synchronicities and symbols as well as relationship make such a difference.
A father with spectacularly good looks in his family but not so much helpful genetics in the health on . .hmmm. My imagination is whirring with energy.
Happy Father's Day to Taryn's father and all father's in all of your lives no matter where they are and whearever the current connection to this beautiful spirit fighting for more time with her children especially but also with family and friends and so wanting to be here for everyone as long as she can.
Peace and love to you as well as best wishes for all, today as always. I know how incredibly challenging this is for all if you who love her and her family.
PS My candle for her is still burning! To put that symbolism into perspective.
I once received a frantic phone call to Alaska from a brother on a cruise ship trying to get to the Florida keys where his wife was in critical (not expected to make it) condition from massive massive blood loss.
She'd had a fall hitting her head on the cruise ship bathroom sink and losing so much blood that it triggered her other healrh issues. Cruise crew lined up to donate blood when headquarters radioed in they could not legally do so (libality, safety etc ).
They finally called the Coast Guard for emergency transport to the Keysby helicopter. No room for my brother and a long time by the ship ..not with her with the expectation by all that he could not arrive in time.
I was in Alaska caretaking my parents in one of the most challenging of times and he was crying so hard I could barely understand what he was saying. But I did. And i prayed for her non-stop almost chanting for 11 days with candles burning non-stop day and night. They seemed very much like the Hebrew story of oil lamps that lasted endlessly it seemed.
My mother only had old mostly used up big candles and a few hodge podge votives ibut they were mighty. My s-i-l came out of her coma, finally got the internal bleeding from her kidney issues under control. And my brother made it in time to be with her for 6 more weeks of recuperation there before retirning home to Alaska. She lived for years more with lots of health care but with additional time with kids and grandkids.
All the prayers in the world do not always give us what we want but they sure can spark many other miracles we didn't realized were needed or that would give time and healing and closures with deep love and gratitude.
She and I were able to spend a year together when my brother went through a similarly but different life or death illness in Oregon. Another long, long story with me traveling and being in 3 states and 4 hospitals. He is still alive with 3 drs. In 2 hospitals saying he wouldn't come off a ventilator without brain damage or live based on physical signs of function.
There were repercussions to both of their miracles. I learned that fate changes as does the collective energies for predictions.
Others i cared for did not get the miracle they thought they wanted and passed but amazing, amazing things happened in depths of relationships or understandings of this life and how to view the transient nature of all of life.
And the joy and laughter my s-i-l shared during those times with my brother bonded us all eternally. I can still feel her energy and that strange connection that can exist after someone's transition.
Pray for a miracle knowing it may be different that what you want or expect but look for other ones that are always so possible ???????
wow! What an incredible story. Thank you so much. And you are so right about other miracles that can occur. I had a spiritual advisor who used to tell me that.
You may not be old enough or interested in a particular niche to know this family or their father. He's been dead 62 years. This year he's having a Zoom memorial service.
Dad is being taken back to the ER for tests to see if there is internal bleeding. I'm so worried that he isn't getting the care and attention he needs because of all the Covid stuff. I talked to him yesterday, and he can't talk more than five minutes because of pain and breathing. And on top of all of that, a sewage pipe burst in their basement yesterday. (Their house has been a cursed nightmare of a money pit since they bought it 12 years ago.) My mom is literally at the end of the rope, and now he's back at the ER. I feel so helpless, all these miles away. Any extra good vibes in this group to send their way today? I'm trying my best, but it feels so small compared to what they need.
@pacosurfer, I am responding to your post under the “Economy” thread. I am very sorry to hear about your job and the deep loss that you are feeling. When I lost my job a few years ago, I found it very disorienting and initially difficult to get my bearings. I recognize that this is a crazy, stressful time in our country right now, but I agree with @lovendures -- with time, you will get to the other side of this. I am glad that you reached out to this community, and hope you will continue to do so. Support is really important right now. Wednesday's Circle of Light meditation is very welcoming, if that's something that resonates with you. I will be participating in this week’s meditation, and will include you in our circle of healing. ?
