"If it's not one thing it's another. It's always something!" -- Roseanne Rosannadanna

Well, I need some very specific healing. I decided to head out for a short bike ride today, with hubby. Put on my helmet, and headed out back to unlock my bike. Tripped on the bottom most step of my deck, and as per "usual" my right ankle went catty-wumpus and I landed on the ground, next to my bike, in excruciating pain. Called ahead to our urgent care, went in and got x-rays. No fracture, but it is sprained. I have sprained this ankle so many times in my life I have literally lost count, but I think it's more than 10 at this point.  Long story short, my right foot bones have deformities (some congenital, some acquired over time), so my foot is not well aligned to my ankle/leg, and my weight is not distributed on it properly. I have repeatedly broken metatarsals, bad bunion, multiple sprains... it's a whole thing, and I should have had surgery years ago, and in fact was looking into it when the pandemic and other factors made me put it off til next year at the earliest.  I have had to give up my beloved flamenco for now, possibly for good (and this was before today's sprain).

So reiki and vibes to Laura's Right Foot, Please, Thank You and Namasté !!

@rowsella

My heart and light are surrounding you now Rowsella! How awful to have the door of the elevator close on you like that. I'm envisioning the light surrounding you and also the sitaution.

OMG you made me laugh and also feel for you with your right foot! (I used to imitate Rosanne Rosanadanna to my cousins in Germany and they got such a kick out of it - they still remind me about it lol) Seriously, I am sending light to you as well.

Laura, I hope your foot heals soon. Like they say, elevation and ice will help with inflammation but eventually you will need some PT to restore some strength to those muscles.

My news after much anxiety (I actually wrote an anxiety filled post before going to my hospital's employee health office). My pain basically goes down to a 3 which I can tolerate and that is what it was when I was when I was there. Ultimately they told me my manager cannot use me with the activity restriction I have and I am officially on Workers Comp. I just missed a call from the WC manager/counselor? Hopefully she will call me back soon and I will be cleared for the MRI. I just want the mysteries of my shoulder problem revealed and to have it treated and restored.

@rowsella

My gosh your shoulder - that's so tough... keeping YOU in MY thoughts!

I declined a scrip for PT because I have done this exact injury so many times, I know all of the exercises by heart (and in fact do maintenance exercises every day anyway), I even have all the flexi-bands and a foam pad and a roller in my house!  What usually ends up happening is that at a certain point in the healing process I have to get a myofascial release of that ankle done, which I'll have to look into since I don't know what's opening up around here due to COVID.

I am doing R-I-C-E, decided to use cannabis instead of motrin, which is working well and I think will promote faster healing.

@rowsella and @laura-f,  I'm very sorry you both are in pain and are dealing with these injuries.  I'm sending healing light your way and prayers for a quick recovery.

@laura-f, I love myofascial release.  I was in a number of car accidents in my 30's, and my body is paying for it now.  MR really helps my cervical dysfunction.

@saibh, I'm sending continued healing light to your dad, and prayers that he can come home soon.

I will include all of you in Wednesday night's Circle of Light meditation.  ?

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

My pain is pretty much gone, the ankle is bruised and swollen, but only hurts if I move the wrong way or try to put all my weight on it.  Still icing today, tomorrow I will switch over to warm epsom salt soaks.

@ Laura-F. Yay! Sending good vibrations to you. Hope all will ease soon!

@Saibh lots of light and hope for you. Wishing you and your family strength in this difficult time.

@Rowsella. Gosh it is frustrating if you do not know what/how. My mother had pain for years and years, before doctors finally figured it out. Wishing you/your doctors enlightenment soon and a way to treat it. Pain has such an effect on our well-being. Good vibrations and strength to you.

Hugs to all! Good tidings *will* come.

@michele-b Single L Michele ;)

Thank you for the continued thoughts for my dad. He is finally home, and as the story comes out here and there, it is truly amazing he is alive. He is quite beaten up and will be healing for a long time, I'm afraid. And @coyote - I told my mom the same thing you said, that maybe this will be his wake-up call to treat his body more kindly and listen to it. He has always been prone to odd accidents that leave him injured (my mom commented that his guardian angels must be exhausted by this point), but also things like gout that slow him down. I hope it took the sky figuratively and literally falling on him to rattle his cage. We learned of another odd miracle: when the EMTs arrived, one of them had worked last summer at a side job in construction, and helped a guy build my parents' back porch. When he saw my dad injured, he told his fellow EMTs that he knows this guy, told him how important his father was (long story about my grandpa, but he is a very meaningful person in the area where my parents live and the nation at large, though very few people outside of their town know his contribution), and to treat him with extra care. Dad is still struggling with breathing, but four broken ribs will do that. I talked to my chiropractor today about his rehab, and the Dr recommended CBD oil to calm him and help him rest. Being an old hippie, I think my dad would be on board with that.

Right on he is one tough fellow!

Continued thoughts and blessings for him (Joel?) every day. Everything is a bit slower and take longer as we age but the courage and the wisdom and the love and the understandings and care for others only increase in strength and power.

So we are still blessed to be and to have and to do. And he has passed on those gifts to you ? Blessings to all of you.?

@saibh So thrilled your dad is home! What a wonderful blessing.

I asked previously for healing for my friend Taryn. To recap, she has acute myelogenous leukemia and has to have continual transfusions because they can't raise her platelets and put her in remission for a bone marrow transplant. At one point recently, she left the hospital and moved into an Air BNB so she could be with her kids, but she was close to the hospital. I took this to mean she was better, since why would you release an immunocompromised person, given COVID and her own disease?

Well I heard yesterday she is back in the hospital.

It's hard to get information - as I said, she had a very famous father and a famous sister so people know her. Her kids find it overwhelming to respond to people so it's tough. They are trying to stay positive.

I ask this powerful and sincere group to continue to put her in your thoughts. She is a wonderful and spiritual person. Thanks.
