@jeanne-mayell One thing I’ve noted about Biden is the exact opposite of what I noticed about every photo of the former guy.
There is genuineness in his eyes. It’s broad but it encompasses everything. Genuine kindness. Genuine caring. Genuine empathy.
I would not have been excited about a Biden candidacy in 2016 and I wasn’t excited about a Biden candidacy in the primaries for 2020 - but holy hell this guy seems to have been born for the exact purpose of our time. It just exudes off of him.
@dannyboy yes, so well put! We got the most genuinely compassionate politician in the top job right after the most genuinely psychopathic one. It is mind boggling when I step back and take that in. Our wondrous universe.

I write this as my furchild is lying next to me, sighing heavily and trying to stare me down because it's 9 AM and I won't take her out in an impending thunderstorm to play fetch. ?
Found out today that another of our dogs has cancer. Just went through this last year and had to put our fireplace-hogging boy down.
Prognosis isn't good. She's younger, only 7. I'd never not have dogs, house would just feel so wrong, but man, it sucks when a bad diagnosis hits. We've had her since she was a puppy. Pound rescue.
I just feel like there's nothing good in the world right now. There is, of course, but I'm not feeling it. ?

@polarberry I'm so sorry. The world does feel bleak, but your pooch has known love, and you made her life better when you rescued her. She made your life better too. Sometimes we can only hold on to the love, especially when events are so outside our control. I'll be sending prayers to your little one.

Finally was able to throw away the bed of our guy we lost last year. It was well-worn and well-loved. Really miss his big fat furry butt.
