Thank you all for your kind words. It really helps. I struggle with letting go. Fighting and overcoming difficulties is what I do. Accepting this is very hard. I really hope that she felt love even though it must have been scary to suddenly be away from the cats she grew up with.
I trust she's happy over the rainbow bridge.

@febbby23, I hope so Febbby. Star was with me for 3 weeks, but I hope my soulmate cat, Holly, has found her and keeps her happy within my family of cats who have crossed over.
It is a nice thought isn't it? That animals can also go to heaven. I know that religious doctrinaire says 'no', because they don't have souls, that's a human thing. I do believe they have souls. They're all so special...
Biden has 2 German Shepards, Champ and Major. Major is a former shelter puppy fostered and then adopted by the Biden family. He will be the first former shelter dog to reside in the White House. His former shelter will have a virtual indoguration for him on Sunday.

Me too! I've always hated the right-wing evangelical opinion that animals don't go to Heaven. Bull! God created them and I think He loves them a lot. I have read many NDE's where the person says Heaven is loaded with animals. And why wouldn't they? If anybody deserves it, it's animals.
We've always had a ridiculous number of pets, so I've lost more than a few through the years, and it never gets easier. When we had to put our big boy down last year, I read a book called Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates by Gary Kurz. The author is religious, but he isn't preachy, and the book is wonderful. He gives solid reasons, backed up with scripture, for believing that animals absolutely do have an afterlife with us. Even if the reader isn't religious, you come away from reading it happy. I highly recommend it.
I just hope the waste magically evaporates or something up there because I want a lion.

As my last update on Starlight, she visited me last night. She lay next to my pillow and went to sleep beside me, purring. This is the first time a dear departed furry one visits me so shortly after they've passed. She sure was special. I now know she's alright. ❤️
