The fact that you are doing so much research and asking questions and setting the tank up properly means you are going to have a great end result no matter what fish you get. I really like my tanks a lot. They're not just relaxing to me; they're fun and entertaining to watch. The fact that I like to watch my fish might mean I need more excitement in my life, but I'm ok with it lol. Each one has a different personality, just like people. Congrats on the tank!!
Even though Cleo is not feeling all that well herself she seemed very aware that my stomach is in knots tonight. She spent the last half hour gently kneading her paws in my belly and then stopping to kiss me, rubbing her little nose and mouth on my face. Laying on my chest and belly. Then repeating this 4 more times. I really think she is trying to heal me.
The vet said Cleo does have a thyroid problem and tonight we start meds. She's a very petite cat and she has lost so much weight her sides look concave. It is a quick fix, 1/2 pill twice a day in food. She is so hungry she inhales her food and has never been able to eat more than a few bites at a time. I am looking forward to her achieving health as her BIG little sis has.
Even as sick as she has been this week, she is still loving, playful, and full of either honey or vinegar towards the other cat. They do bump noses in the mornings now. Cleo decided yesterday to just roll around instead in front of Lollipop like a total goofball. She's something else.
It's very kind of you to ask Deetoo. We started her on the meds and Cleo was able to eat a bit more tonight. She's really way too thin right now and bony. I can't wait to see her transform into a healthier kitty. The awesome vet has given me an ongoing 10 percent discount as both my cats will require ongoing treatments for the rest of their lives. Lolli gets a steroid shot once a month and Cleo will be on this medication for the rest of her life. I'm glad to have adopted them. Their health issues are relatively minor to treat thank goodness.
Me- I'm hanging in but still not feeling terrific today. I also though was able to eat a bit more tonight. I am living a parallel life to my cat!
Hi moonbeam,
I am cleaning my piranha tank right now and thought of you. How's the set-up going?
@polarberry, thanks for asking! The tank has been on for a few weeks and doing well. Water is clear and the pump doesn't keep my daughter up at night. We'll take a bit of water to the store next week to see how we're doing PH etc. wise and then the residents come in. ❤️
So sorry for the delay! Have had trouble posting before now and am dealing with two "fur siblings" (my mom's dog whom she had for 12 1/2 years having cancer and my dad's dog recently diagnosed with cancer). Simon's cancer is terminal, so we are filling his last few days with love and attention (we were told that he had just two weeks. It is now ten weeks later). Clarice's cancer is unknown (we have surgery scheduled for tomorrow.) Hopefully it is treatable.
Now, for the taxes. I will need to post this in several small posts to make sure that they will be posted. Hopefully, they will.
So sad about your fur babies. We lost our beautiful Mya to lung and bone cancer and I still get teary even thinking about her. My only thoughts now is that she is no longer suffering and is waiting for my return to the other side so we can be together again. Know that my thoughts are with you and your loving fur babies.

P.S. Your analysis of what is going on from a legal standpoint is both fascinating and enlightening. I so enjoy learning from you.
"the residents" lol. That's a horror movie, you know! ?
What size tank did you go with and did your daughter decide on neons?
