Pluto Ruling and the End of an Era
by Jeanne Mayell
Four days before the 2016 election, I prayed for a vision of our future. Immediately I got an image of a psychic storm in front of the Statue of Liberty, a whirlwind of battling forces that looked like a sandstorm. Emerging victorious from the battle, I saw a force that will operate, until 2025 to 2028.
It was symbolized by the sign of Pluto, the Roman God of the Underworld, God of authoritative power, of death and darkness, and our collective shadow.
Next to Pluto was a delicate flower, symbol of Spring time and the Greek Goddess Percephone, the daughter of Demeter, the great goddess of the grains.
In Greek mythology, Pluto, who the Greeks called Hades, abducted Percephone, and carried her off to the underworld. Percephone, an innocent girl, represents kindness, caring, and life-affirming forces towards people, animals, and the earth. Pluto brings winter and darkness to our land, He also takes us into the depths of our own shadow so we can bring light to it and heal it.
With the advent of Donald Trump and the extreme right GOP, Pluto energy is in full force now, and, if my visions are correct, the shadow remains in power until the mid to late 2020’s. In meditations, I have not seen Trump himself lasting past the end of 2020, but the GOP and extreme right oligarchs may continue through the mid to late 2020’s.
When I drew cards on the winner of the 2020 election, I got a woman, but as I dropped the card on the table, it turned upside down, indicating it won’t be a woman although a woman may be significant in this race. Still positive change will come from that election.
Regardless of who takes the presidency in 2021, we are witnessing a death spiral, a last hurrah of patriarchy that treats the earth and its inhabitants as separate, not as one, for private personal gain, rather than for the gain of all. As eco philosopher Joanna Macy, expressed it, they treat the earth as a supply house and sewer.
The positive aspect of this dark period is that it will cause us to evolve, become stronger as heart warriors, and hasten the end of a system that has been against life, love, and our earth. It will make way for a more life-affirming world.
In the Greek myth, Percephone’s abduction brought grief to her mother, the goddess of the grains, and famine to the land. The people then demanded that Percephone be returned to them.
In our world, the “Me too” campaign involves women demanding that male patriarchs release Percephone, the young girls of our land. In the Alabama Senate race, it was the Demeters, the middle aged mothers, who came forward to expose what Roy Moore had done to their young girl selves. And the Republican women of Alabama held Roy Moore accountable. The women from both sides of the political spectrum are rising up to bring life force back to our people, to create a caring more matriarchal government that honors women, and all people, and our earth. Perhaps it will also be the women who hold Donald Trump to account.
If my vision is correct, in 2020, after four years of Donald Trump and the bullying energy of the GOP, the American spirit will slide quickly into a decline that will fit the inward despair people have been feeling. The resulting decline of our markets, the fires and floods from the warming climate, the daily bullying and gaslighting of progressives and people of color that we see in the media, will cause people to turn away from the old system and embrace a more life-affirming way of life.
Climate devastation will hit hard during the mid to late 2020’s and something will cause the world to “crash” in some way. Countries will take steps to stop fossil fuel burning. People will scramble to adjust to the surge in heat. There will be mass migrations. Some have estimated that 200 million people will be on the move by 2025.
Throughout this time, light workers will work feverishly to counteract the dark. A growing movement of light below the surface will emerge full force in the mid to late twenties. The youth will rise up to counter the dark. Throughout this time of winter, the seeds of spring are germinating below the frost, as more people are turning to a more humane and life-affirming way of life.
Don’t despair or think that the direction our government has taken is a permanent state. It is not. Life and truth will prevail. True to the Greek myth, Percephone will be returned to us and springtime will come again.
Be one of the seeds, and you will find you are guided to safety. Embrace a more life-affirming style of living now and help lead the way for others. Spring will return in earnest in the mid to late 2020’s. — Jeanne Mayell, posted 4/30/17.
